I’ve been having a similar experience to some of the other comments. I’ve had a terrible reaction to this toothpaste. It has made my lips horribly swollen and the inside of my mouth very sore. Unfortunately there seems to be something in this that is causing an issue. I’ve used this toothpaste in the past without issue so maybe the formula has changed?

I was influenced to buy this by someone who said it really worked to whiten teeth. I had no issues for the first few weeks, other than the unappealing salty taste. Then I woke up one morning with swollen lips. I didn’t realize it was caused by the toothpaste so I continued using for a few days while trying to figure out what was happening. By this point I had lacerations on the inside of my lips and mouth and my tongue was inflamed. I was doing research on products I was using and found the reviews of this toothpaste. I switched and my condition improved greatly within 3 days. I would caution anyone against using this. It’s far too abrasive on soft tissue. I am so relieved I figured out before it did lasting damage.

It has been a week since I started using this toothpaste and it has been the worst experience ever! My entire mouth, gums, cheeks, roof, tongue and lips having been on fire! My lips are swollen and constantly peeling. I have no taste and all I have been able to eat is yogurt and drink water. I am using my granddaughter's toothpaste now and pray this heals soon. Please use with caution! I wouldn't wish this experienceon anybody!

Within a few days of using this I noticed my mouth was raw and burning. At first I didn’t connect it to the toothpaste. I kept rinsing with warm salt water and it did not go away. I could hardly swallow and it hurt to brush my teeth so I stopped brushing. Then lo and behold the irritation stopped and it went away. I googled the reviews for it and found MANY people with the same issues. I called the manufacturer and they took my information. I asked them to pull the product since it was obviously affecting so many others. They were very nice, but they are still selling this product and I am still seeing these same complaints. While I always trusted A%26H for my household needs, I can no longer trust them for personal products and I’m actually weary of anything I purchase from them now.

My lips are severely dry and my tongue developed fissures. The corners of my mouth are so dry and cracked, it hurts to open. I thought I had an allergic reaction to something I had eaten and even thought my friend's dog gave me some bacterial infection. Even went to the doctor's to get it checked out. I can't believe toothpaste could cause such adverse reactions.

I used this Monday and Tuesday (morning only) putting a tiny dab on my toothbrush. I used my regular toothpaste at night. Tuesday night I could feel something strange happening with my lips. I woke up Wednesday to huge red lips. They were so swollen I was embarrassed to go to work. My gums were very sore, the outside of my lips very chapped, and two small painful ulcers under my tongue. Today is Friday. The swelling is finally gone but my lips are still a little chapped. Gums are still sore and the ulcers are still just as painful. Trying Chloraseptic to help with the pain. Horrible experience!

I wouldn’t wish this on my enemies. Not that I have enemies, but this stuff made my teeth ache and feel like, I can’t even describe. For somebody who has had very good strong, white teeth for 50 years went from that to having extreme sensitivity and what felt like an enamel being stripped away. At first, I wasn’t sure what was happening. Once I switched to this toothpaste within two weeks, started my teeth ache and within two weeks of stopping my teeth seem to be getting much better. Two months later seems back to normal.

Evidently Arm & Hammer has changed their whitening toothpaste along with the packaging. Frankly, the new version is not nearly as good and has a terrible taste compared to the older version. I wish I could still find the older version as I would stock up!

Been using A&H whiting for the past week, after seeing it being recommended by a dentist. I noticed by lips tingled when using it. A few days later, I woke up to what could only be described as inflammation, cracking, and.severe chemical burns on on my lips. See attached photos -- it's as painful as it looks. Obviously this does not happen to everyone -- but if you use this product please know that this COULD happen to you to, and please stop using if you feel any tingling on your lips.

I have been using this product for 14 years and I have never had an issue! It always kept my teeth white and clean! This last tube absolutely wrecked my lips and corners of my mouth. This last tube caused severe rash, bubbling at the top of my lips, inflammation and very painful burning. I am disappointed because I’ve used it for so long!
