I'd given up on FreshStep years ago due to the heavy scents causing respiratory issues for me and my cats. I stumbled upon this product in December and after trying a single box, I went and purchased another four to change out my other boxes. Gone is the heavily perfumed scent that clung to everything and caused sneezing. Another added benefit I've noticed is that while there is still dust associated with pouring and sifting the litter, it's less than average. Another amazing benefit, this is less than half the price of the fancy no dust litter I've been buying, which saves me almost $65 a month. Cats took to it no problem. Still gotta take that one star away though for the dust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cat is very spoiled and refuses to use any litter with a perfume (scented) smell. I find she will use the Ultra and I like the clumping feature. The box was a little difficult to get to the Paw Points. A little paper inside the box with the code (like your crystals litter) would be helpful instead. I only buy 14 lb. boxes because I find the larger boxes too heavy to lift.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a coupon from PINCHme to try a Fresh Step Litter product of my choice. I chose Simply Unscented because I have not liked scented litter (from other brands) in the past. I like the texture of this litter a lot; the particles are a little larger, which helps reduce tracking. I also think this litter is less dusty than some other brands. I think Fresh Step Simply Unscented Litter does a great job with controlling odor. I really like that there is no smell to the odor and that the charcoal particles help to reduce odors from the cats using the litter. My cats immediately adjusted to Fresh Step after using another brand and have not shown any signs of disliking the brand. I'll definitely stick with Fresh Step Simply Unscented Litter from now on.

My Cat Shadow has a Cute but Very Sensitive Nose. So because of this I have had to try Many types of Litter. Yet I never had good Luck with Any. So my Shadow was still avoiding the litter box at All Costs. Not to mention when he had to finally Break down & use his box. He would sneeze every single time he started digging around in there like a crazy kitty. Since he has to do that every time he goes to do a #2/. On top of that he also has the habit of running down the hall doing Mach 10 as so as he finished his business like his it’s chasing him. Giving me the added Bonus of tracking litter from his box, to the hallway & every where else. I did some more research to see if I was ever going to be able to find a litter that wouldn’t make him sneeze & wouldn’t have any overpowering scent. Less tracking would also be Great but I didn’t see that happening & was more concerned for his health then me having to clean up some litter. After reading through multiple reviews. Fresh Step Ultra Unscented seemed to have all the qualities My Shadow would benefit from. After reading many peoples experience with using Fresh Step Ultra Unscented. It always seemed to come out on Top. I decided to try a small box since My Bad Luck in believing what every Litter Brand claimed on their Boxes. But NOT this time!! My cat would finally use as soon as he had to. Instead of sniffing around his box forever. Like hei was trying to find out where the awful smell was coming from. He can dig around as Much as he wants without sneezing or kicking up a dust cloud. I was also extremely impressed by the Low Dust Factor with Fresh Step Ultra litter. Every other litter I would try to get him to use would not only leave dust in his box but also leave a coating of dust on anything in its vicinity. I also received the Extra Bonus that I thought No Litter Brand could ever promise of it Not tracking as much as the other Brands. Fresh Step Ultra Unscented Litter was a total life saver. I’m much happier knowing that my Shadow’s cute little sensitive nose can finally be at rest. Also that he can finally use his litter box like a Normal Cat would..... besides the fact he still runs down the hall, at full speed. As if it’s chasing him... LOL

Due to small living spaces, my kitten's litter box is in a commonly used area of the house. As you can imagine, I was concerned about smells and dusty litter dirtying the area. I have not had a single issue with either of those things. I never smell the litter box and if I have friends over, no one smells anything either (So I know it's not just because I've gone nose blind!). Granted I only have one cat, but there have been a couple of times when I have gone a few days without cleaning the box and it still smells fresh and I don't smell any foul smells. Finally, my kitten loves the litter too; He gets extremely excited when I add new litter to his box and immediately just goes on a digging spree!

We have used this litter all 14 years of our cat’s life. She is very picky and will not use scented. I have noticed recently the formula change and am not at all happy with the change. We go through a lot more litter because the pee causes huge nasty clumps. It is hard to scoop and is allowing more smell. Please bring back the old formula.

My cat does not like strong odors, he will urinate outside of his box if the scent of the litter is too fragrant. After switching to this litter I haven't had another problem and it actually masks the odor of the urine better than the scented litters. It clumps really well too.

In the past, I always bought Fresh Step with Febreze because I thought it had to be scented in order to mask the nasty feces/urine smell. However, the Febreze scent was too strong for me because I am sensitive to strong smells (good and bad). I also suffer from asthma, so I was often bothered after our cats used the litter box. I never smelled feces or urine, but the Febreze still irritated me. I kept using it though because I'd rather smell a strong pleasant scent instead of a strong bad one. Lol! Finally, I got fed up and decided to try this unscented variety fully expecting to be disappointed. To my delightful surprise it was wonderful!!!!! For the first time, I smelled NOTHING and it was great! I could not be happier with the performance of this unscented litter. If you are sensitive to smells like me I highly recommend this product!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As I stated in my other reviews I really don't like unscented products. However my bf bought this for our cats. Of course I had to use it bc we needed the cat litter done. 10/10 was surprised about this litter and will buy again
