[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unscented is great for my kitties who are picky about scents. No other litter clumps like Fresh Step. It's the only litter I use. I sometimes use different types of Fresh Step but do prefer Unscented if possible.

So if this product is 99.9% dust free, I'm the .1%. Clouds Of dust kick up with every scoop, which is really bad for respiratory challenges. I used another brand previously with our new cat, but bought based on the reviews. This product falls way below my expectations

I believe my kitty has sensitivities to certain scents, so I was buying a pretty cheap unscented litter that did so so of a job. I found a coupon for Fresh step so I decided to give the simply unscented version a try. I like it so much it might be my cats new litter brand. It keeps unwanted scents away, is low dust, and he doesn't get a reaction to it. So very happy with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our cat, Midnite is almost 10 years old and while we have tried a few brands of litter, we ALWAYS have come back (and to FURever stay) with the Unscented variety of Fresh Step. Our cat, nor ourselves care for the scented litter. Midnite actually has sniffed at the opening of her litter box, cringed and didn't go in! While at times it has been a little tough to find the Unscented variety, its the one that all of us Here preFURR!

Most people I feel are drawn away from scent free litters because they don’t think it’ll control the odor without the floral or tropical added scents. I believe that is wrong, especially with Fresh Step’s unscented litters. They have great odor control and my kitties love the litter.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It doesn’t smell obnoxious like the scented cat litter I’ve tried before and I obviously prefer the the non-scented one waaay better. It does control the smell and my cat doesn’t have any problem using Fresh Step Litter. Plus, it was very affordable for such a great product. Highly recommend this product !

I was using Fresh Step Unscented Extreme 42lb bag (Blue and Yellow Bag). Honestly I didn't have one complaint about that litter and either did anyone else as it was always rated a FULL 5 stars wherever I looked. To my dismay they discontinued that product recently and I started to buy Fresh Step Ultra Unscented Clumping. At first I was pleased with the switch. But since then I have noticed that the litter does not clump as well as the previous product. I have two kittens and 2 litter boxes. I was able to go 14 days before I had to clean the pans. Now I feel like I have to clean the pans in 10 days as the urine does not clump well and sticks to the pan. Very rarely does the little clump into hard balls like in the past but a clump that is wet and easy for the scooper to break open and get into the remaining litter. I also feel like the litter is sticking to their paws more and getting tracked through the house more...which means more vacuuming for mommy.

I purchased this litter a few months back for one of my kitties (although he is super messy with the clumping style litter so I had to switch to non-clumping) and I absolutely loved how well the litter worked. It clumped perfectly for easy scooping and there was no dust. So much healthier for my cat and myself with no dust. I also love the fact it's unscented, again healthier for both of us. However, he is just so messy with the clumping we had to switch to the clumping style.

Beware!! Fresh Step Simply Unscented cat litter has been the only cat litter we can safely use. Serious respiratory issues mean absolutely no fragrances! We- myself and kitties-have a terrible time with this “new formula”. What did you do and why???? This used to be a great option for those of us who can’t tolerate fragrances or dust. ‘Plant extracts’?! No!! You are making us literally sick! SHAME ON YOU.

I have used the Unscented Fresh Step Cat Litter for years and within the past year the formula was changed. It is still a good litter and I do not plan to change to another brand, but what I have noticed is that I have to change the litter much more frequently than in the past. What this means is more money spent - bring back the old formula. In addition, my cat has decided to use other things rather than the litter - my husband does not appreciate that. That's because if it doesn't get changed sooner, she won't use it. Sometimes "New & Improved" really isn't. The box is also harder to open and I am getting older (not helpful).
