I've been using this litter for a few months now. It's very effective at controlling odors without any of the added perfumes or scents (Febreeze, Gain, etc). I used buy the Febreeze version of this, but my cat seems to be more accepting of the unscented, which means fewer messes to clean up.

With two cats in a one bedroom apartment, odor control is key. Fresh Step Ultra Unscented works wonders, keeping odors and dust at bay without the need for heavy scents or perfumes. Clumps well and doesn't track as much other brands I've used in the past. My cats and I love it!

I've been using this for the last two months. It tracks fairly little and controls odors well. But once you get to 3-4 weeks of use, its performance dwindles. At that point, odor control is about average and dust is present when scooping. The clumps, however, do stay together throughout the month-long duration.

Just recently this formerly feral cat decided to move into my house within a week I had taken him to the vet for all of his shots and to get neutered. Then when I brought him home two days ago, I started training him with the litter box. I had started with a different litter that had been recommended by a store employee however even though it clumped well, I was having throat swelling and wheezing/breathing difficulties every time I got near the litter box or had to scoop. Last night I changed out the litter box to the fresh step unscented and I am no longer having throat swelling and breathing difficulties every time I scoop the walk near the litter box just after it has been used. This is such a huge difference and literally a life saver!

Whatever Fresh Step did to its product is a nightmare. It’s no longer scent free. My house smells of litter dust. The cats smell of litter dust and I have to wipe them down. More dusty and less clump action. Can anyone recommend a replacement ? Travesty to change up on cats like this.

I always used the crystal litter, but after getting our 3rd Bengal, we needed a change. We simply love the unscented version. There is no odor at all and the feces smell is quickly absorbed. Anyone that has a Bengal knows what I mean when I mention the feces smell, WOW!! I highly recommend the unscented version for anyone that loves having cats, but hates the smell of litter.

Miss the old formula. I feel like I need to wear a mask when I dump this litter into the box as it now creates a massive dust cloud! Far from dust free. We have a cat with asthma, so I will probably need to change. The litter is also much darker and the texture is different. Very small particles that track everywhere. Fresh step DONT FIX SOMETHING THAT ISNT BROKEN!

I bought this recently and have been very impressed with the clumping, much less scraping of the bottom of the pan. and the odor control is good for 2 cats. I don't like buying the scented litters especially since I have a special needs cat who might me more sensitive to things like that.

I have been using this for a while and find the my 2 cats love it. We are all very sensitive to strong odors. The tight clumping is great. Over the years I have tried several liters and Fresh Step is "The Best" and controlling odors. I would not use anything else!!

Of course, I need to buy another 25 lb box before the next one is delivered, but Fresh Step is the best kitty litter to buy!!
