I was very surprised that this product has a distinct scent. A yucky floral scent. It has taken me forever to use the 42 pounds, because I have had to mix it in small amounts with litter that is truly unscented, so that it did not overpower me or my cats with scent.

I dislike any scented cat litters because the scent is so obvious and my cats end up smelling like it, too. Many stores seem to carry the scented ones primarily so I was thrilled to find this one. It does an amazing job absorbing odors and not sticking all over my cats. It works so well, people don’t even realize I have cats when they come to my house.

I'm yet another very long-time customer completely dissatisfied with the current Simply Unscented litter. It is NOT even close to the previous boxes of the litter. I am thoroughly disappointed and will have to try other brands. My biggest problem now is how to dispose of the current box of lousy litter. Fresh Step: what were you thinking? You had a great product. Now you have a really bad one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this litter without worry that my two furry diva's won't become imbued with litter "perfume". Its low dust formula is great for the bathroom which used to be covered with fine powdery dust before I started using this wonderful product. One box holds all its odor absorbing properties for over a week, and because it's just the right size, makes cleanup a breeze when the box is ready to be emptied, washed and new litter added. Highly recommended.

I tried several popular unscented brands and the clumping power and tracking outside the box wasn't great. Simply Unscented did have a faint scent, but overall hasn't bothered my kitty and I still get the clumping and low tracking I've always loved from Fresh Step!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this unscented litter for a long time. Clumps well, controls odor, and the best part is no fragrance. I have allergies and asthma and cannot tolerate most perfumes. This works great for me and my three cats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fresh Step is the only litter I purchase. I scoop the litter every day, but my sister, who also uses this litter, doesn't. My point? You can't smell her house even after several days! Plus, it's not super dusty, and very easy to scoop. One time the store was out, so I bought another brand, and my baby, Ares, looked at me like I was crazy! I will always be a Fresh Step mom :)

This particular litter is very fine and small, especially compared to the Total Control and Triple Action litters. The small grain of the litter causes the litter to go EVERYWHERE. It gets stuck on their paws and when they exit the box litter goes everywhere and all the humans in the house then get it stuck to their feet and litter ends up all over the house. I won't be buying it again. That said, it does have zero odor. There's no annoying perfume or Febreze scent. It smells like nothing, which is nice. It also does a really good job of covering up smelly messes. I have a messy digger so some litter always ends up outside the box, but with this litter it's SO MUCH WORSE. This litter doesn't work for me, but if your cat(s) always keeps the litter in the box then this may work for you.

I have bought this litter a few times now and I absolutely love it. I have three cats and the litter tends to clump very fast regardless of how much I scoop it. This litter lasts long, my cats like it, and smells great! You also don't need a lot of litter compared to other brands. You will understand once you use it. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Even daily scooping and frequent changing of the entire box only goes so far. Fresh Step's Ultra Unscented litter is the only litter I've used that actually does what it says. Using this litter, there's no stink. There just isn't. No ammonia smell. No weird wet litter smell. And it's economical too, which is very important to me.
