I have had cats in my home since I was a child - tried every litter there is. By far! This is the best. I also have asthma, and this one does NOT irritate me! So glad this product is here!!

I have tried several cat litters and without a doubt, my cats prefer Fresh Step clumping litter. I especially like the Fresh Step Ultra Unscented because it really does the job of locking in cat urine odors WITHOUT using fragrances. I really can't stand the odor of most cat litters--including ones that claim to be "unscented."

This used to be May favorite litter… Every box I’ve purchased over the past two months has been heavily fragranced and extremely dusty. What happened? Misleading people and selling a product that is supposed to be completely fragrance free yet is full of artificial fragrance is shady business practice. We’re buying “fragrance free” for a reason. Everything my cats come in contact with smells like cleaning chemicals, it’s disgusting. The dust is making all of us sneeze as well.

This litter is much better scent wise than many on the market with all the fragrances which are not healthy for our cats. That’s where I can give 4 stars. But if you need a litter that is dust free and won’t have your cat smelling like the litter box dust, this isn’t it. We loved the Freshstep ULTRA unscented that got discontinued that was unscented and VERY low dust.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My cats are picky with their litter. I got to try a sample of Fresh Step Litter that is unscented and both cats used it with no issues. I love how it controls odors, but is unscented. Easy to scoop and the litter box is super easy to clean each time! I am now switching to this Fresh Step.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Fresh Step Ultra Unscented litter for my three cats. It works really well. Our litter box is located near our kitchen but with the Fresh Step litter, you can't even tell it is there. There is no smell at all. My cats have no problem at all with using the litter box. I really like it and would definitely consider using again.

The Fresh Step Ultra Unscented kitty litter I still can't make up my mind on whether to love it or dread the thought of it. The initial dust cloud on pouring into the litter box is just about the same but slightly better than my other name brand litter. The odor control works well with 2 adult cats and a kitten with 2 litter boxes. The clumping is horrible and gooey and makes the litter box a nightmare to clean and sanitize. Honestly I'm still on the fence and am going to try mixing it with my old brand.

I've used Fresh Step for years. I don't like my cat inhaling litter dust and this formula gives off very little dust. I also don't like using litter that relies on perfumes to mask odors but it's hard to find unscented formulas. Despite the fact that it's unscented, I never smell anything. I won't use anything else.

We have been using this product for quite some time. 5 star for old formula - "Simply Unscented Litter" new Formula 1 star and as others are pointing out it got dark vs light grey. Something wrong with new formula, so much my cat refused to use any box with new in it. I usually buy ahead, so now i got 5 boxes. Anyone want 5 free boxes, come get. I am now looking and evaluating new companies. Some penny pincher changed the product, and now they broke it. Good luck to all with new formula, when your cat decides not to use of of your boxes.
