I picked this up in-store on a whim, because I was unable to find my normal unscented brand. Within 2 weeks, 3 of my 11 cats had uti's and were urinating blood. All were perfectly healthy, no previous urinary issues. Five hundred dollars later, an expensive lesson learned. Please beware of any litter that uses heavy perfumes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using 'Fresh Step' clumping litter for several years now and have several cats. This is the only cat litter that I have found that actually works well with a multi cat household. I have tried other brands that claim to be better but keep going back to 'Fresh step'.

I recently purchased an automatic litter box. This litter does not work for the one I have because the level of litter is only supposed to be two inches. This means urine goes down to the bottom. Because this litter clumps so hard, it is like cement on the bottom of the box. This litter might be great for regular boxes (which i have on hand for vacation) but not my everyday needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I started using this product around 6 weeks ago and it really works in keeping the order out of the litter. I have two large Maine Coon mixed boys I adopted from the local cat shelter (where I also volunteer) when they were 10 weeks old, now they are 8 yrs old and doing very well. I use one litter box for both and Freshstep Total control scented with Febreze is the best I have found keeping the litter fresh smelling.

We have been using this for a while because it is bulk amount but in seperate packages that are easier to pour into litter box. But it does not work well anymore. It sticks to the bottom of the litter pan and needs scraping out and the odor control is now non existant. Will not use again.

It also has great clumping qualities and odor control we just love how well this works. We have four cats and let me tell you how well this keeps the odor under control, everyone comes into our house and can't even tell we have cat's they are very surprised when they see we have them because they can't even smell it when they come in. It's fantastic, W love it!!

I get this one sometimes when it's on sale and it's obviously a favorite to many for a reason. It's also very economical, though I preferred the pail verson for the reusability of the pail :) However, as litter it's great at odor control, it doesn't track very much, and my cats have no aversion to sharing it!

I'm so happy that I can get back to a brand that I like. My cat seems to like this litter and doesn't throw it all over the floor like other brands.

We've been using Freshstep for about 2yrs. This litter clumps very well, it makes hard balls that almost never break. It is very very low dust, almost none at all. I also love how their packaged in 4, 11lb bags it makes it super easy to pour and carry. It has amazingly great odor control, but it does have a very heavy and overwhelming scent. It is overall a very good litter. We love the Freshstep company, they are a wonderful company that helps animal shelters and we love supporting them.

Not only is it the most powerful and best litter on the market today but it also has a wonderful rewards program that I am very active in.
