It says scented but I think it is unscented. Doesn't matter. What did matter is that there are 4 bags, about 11 lbs each as carrying another 44 pounds could not been done Got in in the car, got a scissor when i was open and was able to carry each bag in separately and make it easy to refill the little box

I have 4 cats and I am 74 yrs old. They are a lot of work and I have to try always to find my supplies in smaller packaging because I cannot lift large heavy objects. This is the best littler that I have found, I scoop the boxes daily and add litter ever week with a box scrub when needed. It was a godsend when I found this litter, it is perfect. The absorption is great, turns into to nice solid chunks that are easily removed with leaving a lot of damp sand behind. And the10 # bags are so very easy for me to handle. With 4 cats, I rarely need to add a half bag but the blue tape on the bag makes it simple to do that when a portion of the bag is to be set aside. And the price is great. I have tried the lightweight litters, they are dusty and I swear that I can hear my old man cat sneezing after using the litter box when I tried one of this brands. This litter does its job, not a mess maker, does not track all through my house and does not smell. I have tried others but I always come back to my Fresh Step, can't beat it for multicast household, ease of using those nice small bags but with them in a 4 pack, I have enough for weeks. Not messy and it just works!!

My cat has no issues with using this litter (or any litter I tend to use). I think this might be a little lower dust level than the other brand I was using. The individual bags make it easier to top off the litter container, and would also make it easier to add directly to the litter box if using that way.

Great clumping cat litter that really locks in odor as stated if not longer! We have multiple kitties and this litter is low dust and clumps the urine really well making it super easy to scoop. I scoop the litter boxes about every other day, sometimes I get behind a day, but I can say that this Fresh Step Total Control litter does a great job locking in odors. I always worry that my home might have a cat box smell, but everyone says that they wouldn't even know that I had cats if they didn't see them. This doesn't ring true for a couple of other clumping litter brands that I have used in the past, so this is definitely the tried and true brand for our kitties and our home.

We have 2 cats and keep 2 litter boxes and they use whichever one they like. Fresh Step keeps the odors under control and is easy to handle in the smaller bags. We use the litter box liners in conjunction with this litter and the whole operation is as easy as waste control can be. One of our cats has sensitivities to litters and this is the one I prefer because it doesn't make her wheeze.

This clumping litter clumps pee very well and makes it easy to scoop out. The freshness of the litter has lasted me and my cat over a week. I only have one cat and two litter boxes, so your mileage may vary. One bag in this pack fits one litter box with no problem. my little Zelda is about 3 and half months old.

The fresh step 44 pound multi pack clumping litter is a good value for the price, especially when it's on sale. The litter itself is very fine and has a pleasant aroma that is not overpowering. Personally, I think there's a lot of dust because of the fine texture. But my cat likes it and that's the most important thing. I do have a mat for when it tracks out of the box. It comes in four, 11 pound packages, which makes it easy to lift and carry to your litter boxes, you don't need to lug around huge heavy containers. The remaining packages stay sealed and stored until they are ready to be used. Sam's Club has the best price on this item and you get four extra pounds.

Litter seems to be much dustier now

I’ve been a dedicated Fresh Step customer for years while running a small cat rescue with 20 cats at any given time. The original formula was perfect for my needs - it clumped reliably, controlled odors even with multiple litter boxes, and had minimal dust. The smaller bag sizes were also much easier for me to manage. Unfortunately, something changed with the formula, and I can no longer recommend this product. The odor control has noticeably declined, but the biggest issue is the dust. It’s now extremely dusty - so much so that every time I change out my boxes, the entire room ends up coated in a fine layer of litter dust that requires deep cleaning. With the number of cats I care for, this creates an enormous amount of extra work and isn’t healthy for me or the cats. While I appreciate that the packaging remains easy to handle at my age, the dust and reduced odor control are simply too significant to overlook. After years of loyalty to Fresh Step, I’m switching to Tidy Cats. It’s disappointing when a product you’ve trusted for so long changes for the worse. If you’re considering this litter, I’d suggest looking elsewhere unless they reformulate back to their original quality.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

NOT the litter I’ve used for years but I had forgotten to pick it up and didn’t want to double back several miles to get it. I was in Sam’s and I decided to try this instead. Big mistake. It’s awful. It’s very heavy, very dusty, the cats tracked it EVERYWHERE and clumps stuck to the litter box then broke apart when you dug them out. I went back to my tried and true in less than a week. Lesson learned.
