The fresh step 44 pound multi pack clumping litter is a good value for the price, especially when it's on sale. The litter itself is very fine and has a pleasant aroma that is not overpowering. Personally, I think there's a lot of dust because of the fine texture. But my cat likes it and that's the most important thing. I do have a mat for when it tracks out of the box. It comes in four, 11 pound packages, which makes it easy to lift and carry to your litter boxes, you don't need to lug around huge heavy containers. The remaining packages stay sealed and stored until they are ready to be used. Sam's Club has the best price on this item and you get four extra pounds.

Actually, Fresh Step is our 2nd choice. We're getting this because Sam's apparently discontinued carrying their Member's Mark Kitty Litter in store. Fresh Step is pretty much same consistency and clumping, but way more litter dust and is not fragrance free.

This used to be the only cat litter I purchased for over 10 years. Now with the "new %26 improved odor technology" version of this, I didn't really notice any difference in odor control or clumping (I have 2 cats) but I did notice there's a lot more dust. Every time I pour clean litter into the bin and even when I scoop dirty litter out there are puffs of dust. even though the odor and clumping is fine I don't want to inhale the litter dust and will start looking for another litter to try.

LONG TIME USER NO LONGER RECOMMENDS. I have been using Fresh Step Total Control in my Litter Robots for about 10 yrs now. It's been decent up until about a year ago or so maybe. I always had 2 Cats but one passed aver a year ago, but it always was decent. Now this litter for one cat doesn't do it. They changed it for the worse. "Very dusty", makes it more muddy when urine and won't clean off when cycling the litter robot anymore. Not happy to have have to remove mud clumps daily or cat pees outside it. I buy when on sale so I have on hand but wish I didn't buy the last bunch. I don't understand why these products change because it actually isn't Fresh Step TOTAL CONTROL anymore.

Using Fresh Step Extreme helps cover up the fact that i have 18 indoor cats . Yes that's 18 grandkits that are all fixed and were born from 1 Feral mother . If a didn't use Extreme fresh step cat litter I don't think i could live happy. It really covers up the smell ; so that outweighs the slight dust !

Now available in plastic wrapped case of 4 individually wrapped 11LB bags. When home litter can now be unloaded 1 individual bag at a time if necessary. I have used this brand litter for the last 5 months and the Sam’s Club price makes it an even better value and more litter for the price. This litter clumps quickly, and is awesome for keeping odor away even with multiple kitties in the house. I highly recommend this brand and size litter, you won’t be disappointed and it will last you a good period of time.
