So many tough stalks

So much of the asparagus in this package was unusable - after trimming off the tough ends I ended up with a lot of waste - brown nasty unedible stalks. I put the waste on a scale to find I was throwing out 10.8 ounces. In a 2 pound bag, that's 1/3 waste! Better picking out my own at the grocery store for sure.

Delicious California Asparagus

A few reviews complained they were large and tough. So far I have not had a bad bag, but do inspect what's in there before purchasing. I cut off a few inches off the ends, steam. Eat with a dolop of the roasted garlic hummus available by the tub at Sam's. Yum!

Good, fresh asparagus.

This asparagus was fresh and turned out great! I was taught years ago to bend each stalk and where it snaps is naturally getting rid of the tough, stringy part. I don't know if that is strictly true but when I cut the stalks I usually seem to get some tough ends to chew on. Anyway, snapping and rinsing these turned out great! Tender and flavorful.

Green mushy Asparagus packaged 11 days prior

Every time I buy from Curbside I always get rotten and old produce. This practice is very aggravating . Don't buy anything perishable curbside. Sam's policy is clearly to give you the oldest garbage they have without concern for health , safety and value for your dollar

Sometimes fresh & sometimes old and mushy

I just bought a bag of asparagus three days ago. I opened it and it was slimy on the bottom half and had more than half mushy pieces. There is no expiration date on the bag. Since the bag is sealed, there is no way to check for freshness before buying. I will no longer buy asparagus at Sam's. I do not like finding out that the product is old and slimy right before dinner.

The worst asparagus ever

I have bought lots of asparagus through the years - including at Sam's - but the bag I got here recently was the worst I've ever had. Even after breaking off a third or more of the bottom of the stem due to it being super woody, after cooking, many of the pieces were still so stringy and woody they could not be eaten. Big waste of my $ - and time.

Bought 2 packs...some going bad

Out of the 2 bags I threw away maybe 4 or 5 stalks but the rest were fine. You buy these and make sure you cook them asap. How I cooked them. Some needed peeling, maybe 8 or 9 out of the 2 bags. Heat oven to 425°F Lay them out on a sheet pan Drizzle olive oil on them, don't make a grease slick. Lightly salt and roast 10 to 15 minutes maximum They will still be slightly al dente,, not mush. So this was pretty tasty Asparagus

Great price for a not-so-great product

If Sam's were closer to my home, I would have returned it, but I didn't really want to save it until the next time I returned to the warehouse... The quality was just terrible. Tough and flavorless, plus some of the tops were starting to rot because of moisture inside the sealed bag. I will not be buying asparagus again from Sam's.

Not good

I have been buying this product at Sam's Club for a very long time but yesterday was the first time I ever got something that was almost unedible. I couldn't find an expiration date on the bag but when I opened it at home to use it half of the asparagus stalks were no good. So tough you couldn't even snap it. Very dissatisfied with this product and it may keep me from buying it again. To be honest the quality of the asparagus at Walmart is much better. It was a waste of my $8 for that bag

Exceptionally Thin Asparagus!

While the asparagus are always fresh, lately these asparagus themselves have been pencil thin, and when cleaning it's obvious that they are at least half waste. It would be great if the asparagus resembled the asparagus being pictured online, which of are heavier. Sadly this is not the case, and my last two orders have been of the pencil thin variety.
