Bad performer

It performs pretty poorly in an ambient day-lit room. I can't even watch this during the day or in a room with lighting. You can't even see any dark scene. I've tried ALL the recommended adjustments. It's been bad tech since day one, though okay for daytime cooking shows. But sometimes you just want to watch a movie. Watching any Alien series would be impossible.

Black screen in a couple of days

TV worked fine for the first couple of days, then the screen went black presumably from a faulty back light strip. The menus and and sound still work, but the screen is still black. Otherwise, the screen was great for 4K gaming until it unfortunately broke.

Kevin: If you've switched on your TV and the sound comes through fine, but you're not seeing any picture; there are 3 potential issues. 1) A connection issue; the most common problem. Where there is a bad connection, faulty cables or improper installation. 2) An issue with the device connected to the TV. There may be a video output setting on the device that you must set properly before it will output to the TV. 3) There is something wrong with the TV, which will require a technician to assess the TV and find a solution. The 'Samsung TU7000 Full Manual' is available online. Refer to pages 135-140 for step-by-step troubleshooting instructions. This tv sucks

i brought this tv 4 months ago and like a month in it started having issues like the screen going black i did all the little diagnostics and it started working again so rather than go thru the hassle of getting a new tv i hoped for the best now its turning on and off on its own while it still has black screen.... i should have returned it when it first started thanks for letting me down samsung

Mighty god: Thank you for purchasing the Samsung TU7000 TV. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a power cycling issue where your TV is turning itself on and off repeatedly. Please try a few trouble-shooting steps that may help solve the issue: 1) Check the power cable for damage and proper connection. 2) If the cable is bent, broken, kinked, pinched, pressed excessively (possibly by a heavy object on top of it) or damaged, this is likely the cause of the issue. Replace the cable. 3) Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. 4) If the power cycling allows enough time in between powering on and off, try updating the TV to the latest firmware. There is a risk, however. If the TV turns off during the software update, it could damage the TV. Updates can take up to 30 minutes depending on network speed, so if the TV is not turning off too frequently, try updating the software which can be found on the Support page of your TV model. 5) TVs which can connect to SmartThings can be turned on using compatible devices, sometimes automatically. However, if abnormal "power on" signals are sent through the wireless network, they will trigger this function and make the TV turn on. If you do not want this function, navigate to Settings > General > Network > Expert Settings > Power On with Mobile, and turn the setting off. Good product with a few tweaks

the picture is great and it was easy to set up. i do think the remote could be more user friendly; using the arrows and enter button at the bottom for almost every operation is cumbersome. the home screen is also a bit frustrating because it defaults to a random series or movie if you hit a button incorrectly and the apps are very small compared to the screen. all in all a good product for the cost.

Mounting bolts need to be longer than indicated

the set is nice. but the manual will indicat that the versa mount screws should be 20/22mm. this is not correct, and others have commented the same. when you add in the depth of the mounting plate you are using, the screws/bolts will need to be m8 25mm; otherwise, there will be no bite of the threads-guaranteed. i had called samsung tech support about this, and the agent truly had no clue. secondly, if you want to just set up your tv to start watching your cable and streaming services-not so fast....the initial set up is going to force you through a bewildering labyrinth of required steps, to compel you to set up a samsung account-which you may not want.,

Please know that the 20-22mm listed in the user manual is not the screw length. It’s the wall mount thread depth in the TV chassis. Make sure to add the wall mount bracket thickness to the thread depth for minimum screw length. Disappointing

picture is good. software/interface is a huge disappointment. i was hoping to not have to use a box of any kind but will have to go back to apple tv. the smart hub is so bad that when you turn the tv on it will only default to their smasung channels which blasts some nonesene game shows or bad tv. i use youtube tv for programmining and have to go in and load each time which is slow. app tiles are small and hard to distinguish which app is highlighted. i have a tcl with roku tv that was cheaper, runs faster, has a much better interface with infinately more configuration, etc. really expected more from samsung. i just picture a group of design people sitting around a presentation of this “smart hub” interface and being impressed enough to approve it....wow.

Bad quality, software issues, just excuses…

took this out of the box, plugged it in, hooked up firestick, worked for 1 day. tv will not start up again. disconnected everything, tried hard reset, 4 hours of troubleshooting and nothing. just like all the other reviews here, big issues with software not allowing the tv to start, no hard controls to do a hard reset, just this useless smart remote. all of these folks can't be wrong, it's just non existent quality control, cheap components for a fast buck, bad support. hugely disappointed………this was a birthday gift from my son.

Great features

5 years of sheer joy the settings menu is extensive and you really have to know the right combination of tuning to get the picture at it's highest value, the zoom is amazing must have to maximize picture with top and bottom black bars, great tv once you know your way around, took me some time to get the best combo of settings but that was ok final product awesome

Affordable 4K sweetness

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 4k tv is an entry model that punches above is weight. I have it mounted in my bedroom and it's slim bezels and ample brightness is more than enough for me. With HDR support, streaming movies and shows is truly enjoyable. With the truly tested samsung remote and the tizen os, navigating around the menu is a breeze. If you're looking for a store bright screen and extremely low refresh rates, you might need to look for something higher priced or specd. Blacks are super black and 4K content is as rich as can be. With ample hdmi and other inputs, connecting your speaker system is as easy as ever. Surely looking forward to getting one for the kids room for those cocomelon & peppa pig nights .

Great 4K TV

I have been using for a week now with no issues. After reading other reviews I decided not to use the Smart functions of this TV. Instead I am using an NVIDIA Shield TV. Everything works great so far. Picture is bright, colors are vivid and HDR seems to be working great. One piece of advice I would give is make sure, if you are using an external smart device. Make sure your HDMI cable is at least HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.
