So much fun! And beautiful in our yard!
Our kids have an absolute blast on this playground! We are running into one problem.. the bar that holds the swings for some reason is very short and doesn’t leave enough spacing between the glider and swings. We have had a few kids get hurt.. my son was swinging and his friend went to get off the glider and it moved a little toward the right and caught my sons hand mid swing.. Wondering if a longer replaceable bar is available?
Best money spent
My husband and his father started on swingset had most done in 1 day. My husband finished swingset in a total of 16 hrs. mostly by himself. Time comsuming, directions were a little different but he did not complain and had no problems. It was a b-day gift for our 3yr old, he loves it.
Thank you for your 5-star review.
Great value for the money!
My wife and I looked at many different playsets before finally deciding on the Skyfort. The shipment and delivery from Sams Club was super fast and was delivered within a week. The boxes took quite a beating from the shipment, and the shipping co only sent 1 guy to unload; that is roughly 200lbs per each big sized box. The delivery guy still put the boxes into our garage and not on the curb as described, great service and kudos to this one guy! We noted the box damage on the form so the delivery guy can leave, and took accountability of the wood contents, nothing was damaged or missing. I didn't really count the hardware since there was so many and it was in another box inside the big box, so I figured since it was still intact everything was there unless they miscounted at the factory. The setup took about 30 working hours total = 10 hours working alone during the workweek and 2 full weekends (10 hours with help of a friend and 10 hours alone#. The directions were pretty straight forward, and I counted two spots where the directions were not accurate #e.g. wrong hardware part numbers between pictures diagrams and worded directions). In the end after the project was said and done, all that I was missing were two 5/16" washers, which I happened to have spares in my toolbox. Not bad at all, fortunately for me I didn't have to run to the store like some others did. The set is extremely sturdy, it is anchored into the ground by 8 stakes total and does not shift or move at all even when my son is on the swings. The only reason for the quality mark down is due to the strength of the floor panels, they had a tendency to bow/move a little bit while I was stepping on them; however shouldn't be a problem for the intended age target up to kids 10 years of age. Another area of concern was the beam that the monkey bar attaches to, to me it seems like the beam wouldn't support it, but it held up to my weight of 155lbs, again shouldn't be a problem for kids up to 10 years of age. Spent a little more than what we originally started at, but no regrets and absolutely love it.
Easy to Assemble, A Haven of Joy
We really labored over the decision of which brand and style of playset to buy. WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE! This swing set rings with joy from the very moment moment the kids (5,3,3) run outside. The only downside is that the kids are howling with rage when we tell them it's bedtime -- they just want to keep playing! It is a high-quality, easy-to-assemble play set. With detailed preparation and patient assembly, you can put it together yourself. Before starting, sort all the metal elements into little baggies numbered by step. Check all the lumber and make sure it's in good order (we did not have any problems, but checking ahead will yield dividends if any issues arise). And of course, make sure your ground is clear and level before you start -- or you'll have issues once it's time to bring it all together. We live in Zone 4B (COLD & snowy winters) so we sealed it by hand with multiple coats of a high-quality sealant. It takes time but it's worth it. Our playset is over a year old now and looks fresh and new. It was a bit creaky at first (this is to be expected with fresh lumber) but now it has settled into the earth and is solid as a rock. The glider is perfect for our twins, who are not old enough to pump a swing on their own -- and it gives us adults a break from pushing them for hours at a time! The clubhouse is the perfect place for kids to let their imaginations run wild. We often have all our neighbors over and the whole set brims with kids from age 1 (supervised in the sanbox) up through 12. If you're having a hard time landing on an option, I would say: You can't go wrong with this one. We're loving it (and when the kids are all done, it will have a future life as a very dynamic chicken coop!)
So much room for activities!
We purchased this unit in December of ‘22. It has been amazing. We have had picnics, pirate battles, princess rescues, and zombie defenses to name a few. I was worried about how it would hold up but it has been amazing and even supported me in areas I could barely fit.
Just as expected
This swing set turned out exactly as we hoped it would. Our 2 1/2 year-old daughter loves it! We ordered the set online and purchased the installation. Glad we did! It took a pair of professional carpenters about 10 hours (20 man hours) took construct it. We also decided to seal it with Thompson's water seal to ensure that the warranty would be in effect. Looking forward to many years of good use!
Kids Love it
We bought this as a Christmas present for our boys. They love it and play on it everyday. The picnic table is great and offers a nice spot to eat an outdoor snack/lunch. Some of the wood pieces may need to be sent back, or have replacements provided, but overall everything was good. Plan on taking your time to construct and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE POWER TOOLS!!!
Sky Fort 2
I had bought this for my two young boys as a Quarantine present. They love it, I love it and it fits the backyard so well. The Skyfort is built so well and is very sturdy. It gives my backyard such a new look and I’m glad that I went with Backyard Discovery over anyone else. We now have years of fun ahead of us!
Great fun
I purchased the Skyfort last year and it has held up well and provided enduring fun for our 3 boys. The kit was delivered by a large truck, which might be an issue depending on where you live. The delivery man was willing to help move the boxes after I gave him a tip. It would be best to have two strong adults to move the boxes. I built the kit myself with only occasional help from a neighbor lifting large or heavy parts. That said, it would be easier and faster to build with 2 people. Instructions are overall good with only a few mistakes. More pictures would be helpful. One challenge I had was determining which side of the fort is the front. After some assembly, I had to rotate the structure 180 degrees to get the direction correct. There are a lot of parts and it really helped to organize everything on the garage floor (out of the weather) to make assembly easier. It took me 2-3 weeks to build, working by myself in the afternoons and on weekends. This would be quite a challenge to complete in one weekend, even with 2 people, and I doubt the average person could do it. A tool belt was essential. Also, keep checking ahead in the instructions to have a good understanding of how the structure goes together to reduce errors. The kids enjoyed helping with certain age-appropriate jobs and gave them some pride in the structure. I would recommend not placing the structure directly on the earth to prevent wood rot. Instead I placed brick pavers at the ground contact points, making sure everything was level. I also added additional anchors at multiple points in the playhouse floor for better stability. The swing support was also more stable when the anchors were cemented in the ground. Small children did not cause motion, but there was some motion with our 9 year old or when 3 kids were swinging at the same time. I had to buy several extra bags of washers and some extra screws. A few pieces of wood needed slight trimming for a good fit. The picnic bench required some extra screws for strength. Overall, this is a good kit and it was enjoyable to build. However it helped that I'm a "do it yourself" kind of person. A novice might get frustrated due to the number of parts. On the other hand, the variety of parts also makes this kit more interesting and visually pleasing (eg window details.) The kids have had a lot of fun and it has held up well in the weather (after the sealing coat). Just give yourself extra time for construction.
Has everything!
We bought this for our 3 kids last fall and so happy that we did! Our kids range in age from 9 to 1 year and this play set has something for all of them. My oldest loves the monkey bars and lookout tower. My middle child loves the swings and climbing wall. And we made a sandbox in the bottom part for the baby. After 9ish months, the play set still gets daily use. Would highly recommend.
