This purchase was a little intimidating when it arrived in four large, heavy boxes. The instructions were almost entirely pictures so that was a bit of a disappointment, but it seems in this age of accommodating several languages of instructions, that is the accepted method. Regardless of the daunting task that we thought we were about to undertake, this project was both fun and educational. Our parts were all there. The hardware is heavy-duty and the brackets are made of material that you feel confident in their strength and stability. It took two (and sometimes three of) us over 40 hours to put this guy together, and the hardest part was keeping the children off the individual sections as we completed them until it was finished. I would recommend this product to anyone. The price was quite inexpensive for the quality of the product. And, the children love it. That's the true measure of this product.

I purchased this product and planned to work on it during Spring Break. It came in 4 boxes and each weighed about 200 lbs. The instructions says to have two people available to put it together, but I was able to do it by my self with a little help from my six year old. I found the instructions to be simple to understand and everything worked as planned. It did take me longer than I had planned to put it together, but it wasn't hard to do. Two pieces came broken in the box so I registered on their website and inserted the part number and the parts arrived a couple days later free of charge no questions asked. My child loves the play set so far and has played on it every day.

This is a great playset. My son loves it. As far as the difficulty of the assembly, it does take time to assemble but very worthy the effort after seeing your child's reaction to palying on it. Directions are straight forward. I was missing a pack of wood screws, but never used them ( directions never called to use them). Great customer service. I do suggest inventorying the four boxes that is shipped to you. Over all, very satisfied!

Two complaints only. Some of the hardware was a little soft, make sure you start every nut and bolt by hand. I think we only cross threaded a couple so not a big deal. Hardware was mostly torx and we did have a few strip out. Two of the “steps” had boards with offset holes in them and the directions were not clear of the holes should be inside or outside. I would like to see measurements to double check the spacing of the holes. Almost every hole was predrilled and things went together as they were supposed to. “Santa” brought ours so we were putting it together at night. Started in the garage one night with Rock wall, ladder, monkey bars, etc. Basically took three nights, I would say a solid 8 hour project for 2-3 people. We took our time and a couple GOOD cordless drills help. Kids love it and it seems very solid.

I love building this for my son considering I am the mother. Of a 6 year old big boy I managed to assemble this all by myself. Thank you backyard Discovery for making this experience as easy and convenient with every piece of wood packaged in the boxes. Thank you.

We bought this playset a year ago and hired a local guy to set it up. I am handy, but I would highly recommend hiring out for the build unless you have time to burn. We didn't get around to clear coating the set, but that doesn't appear to have mattered so far. We live in sunny southeastern Washington state (300 days of sunshine!) and have seen little to no fading of the stain. Our daughter loves playing on and in her set. The features appear well suited to someone who was 5 when we got it through at least the next couple of years. She likes to use it as a getaway, picnic station, playhouse and just to swing or climb on the mini climbing wall and up and down the slide. We bought ours through Sam's Club, finding the overall cost was lowest via that route. It was delivered by a tractor-trailer in good condition. As I recall, we didn't have to call for any replacement parts. One or two of the wood components were damaged but they were not damaged in any way that affected the set, as in neither visible once assembled nor splintery. Incidentally, our daughter has reported zero splinters in a full year of extensive play. Great set. Glad I didn't build it myself, truly, but I'm sure it would have been doable if I'd had the time to burn. Definitely would recommend it!

My wife and I looked around for a nice, affordable and reliable swing set for our two boys. We went to ALOT of different outdoor stores and websites and the majority of the larger swing sets were not in our price range and for the most part, in good reason, because they were honestly built better then this set. If you are looking for 2x4, 2x6 and 4x4 wood then you will not find it with this product, lets be honest, its a huge swing set for a great price bought exclusively from Sam's(a large box store), there's a reason behind that. With all of that being said, for the price that we paid, I am extremely pleased with how it turned out. It took my father, my 2 year old son and myself around 22 hours to assemble the swing set and I would rate my father and I as experts at building and erecting but only moderately good at following directions. Follow the directions very closely and pay attention to every single detail of every single board you assemble. 95% of the pilot holes were pre drilled so it is imperative that you make sure the pilot holes are in the right place. Based on reading reviews before I started building, I decided to separate out all of the wood from the boxes once we received the shipment. That turned out to be completely important because it saved us an amazing amount of time. My boys are extremely happy and most important of all, my wife is happy. Happy Wife Happy Life right?

My grandchildren love this set. If you pay for assembly like I did, don’t expect it to be assembled right away. Assembly is contracted out to another company. I live in Iowa where there is a shortage, apparently, of assemblers. Thus, one guy did it on his schedule that included doing other jobs in-between mine, so he didn’t come every day until completed. However, it all worked out. Assembly is a HUGE job. There is one board on the steps that has a crack from the screw. I have yet to contact the company for replacement, but I’m guessing it won’t be a hassle.

We bought this a couple months ago and took about two full weekends of work to install it (but everything was simple to do ourselves). The kids (3 and 4) absolutely love it so far. It is a bit hot out right now (summer in Phoenix) but it will be great for us come fall and winter.

Great product for the price. Definatley alot some time for assembly and get a helping hand. I recommend sorting all wood by letter and doing a complete inventory of lumber. The bolts and bucket nuts tend to cross thread easily so start them by hand. Once assembled this thing is awesome. We have become the hit of the neighborhood among the kids which makes all the time building it worth it when you see them having a blast.
