Awesome Play Set
Very impressed with the detail that was put into this product. Each board was numbered, drilled and cut to perfection. Each hardware bag was stamped and easy to read. Nothing missing. Yes, it did take 2 workers 2 1/2 days to put together but it is well worth it. Tools included worked just fine. We did cheat and use drill motors to put the bolts in though. Every time i see my grandson playing on it (even in the rain), all i can do is smile and know we picked the right set.
Wonderful play set!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a year ago and my children still haven’t gotten bored of it!! It’s great for my almost 2 year old (with supervision of course) my 4 and 5 year old and the love it! The swings are replaceable and I was able to switch the big swing out for my toddler swing!
Skyfort II Cedar Swing Set
We were excited to get this ordered for our grandchildren. We ordered on a Sunday and had it delivered on Thursday - swift delivery! One of the boxes was ripped and one piece of wood was wrecked and the slide had a dimple in it. But one quick phone call and those two pieces were on their way as replacement. The swing set was built over a few weekends, but the instructions were great and assembly went very smoothly. The grandkids are absolutely thrilled with their new swing set and we were very happy with the product.
Skyfort
This is a great product. It IS a lot of work to build...but not as bad as some say. Mostly myself, with my dad twice for about 6 hours total, and me alone about 18...so 24ish (with kids bugging me!). LAY OUT ALL BOARDS, categorize, and inventory all things first. SAVES you time...only takes about 2 hours (i used garage floor). You will have TONS of extra hardward, seems they pack 1 way for all their sets. Most boards are great, some are crooked/cracked, and they do splinter...leading to my 4* quality review...but its fairly minimal, and looks great, sturdy, fun, and kids love it. TIPS: Have a drill/screwgun with power or multiple power packs. You need 3/8 and 3/16 drill bits, 1/2 in hex heads and phillips screwdriver all the time! Dont overtighten hex bolts. Some boards may need holes moved/cut if you're not totally square or if alignment off. Window switch could be done, I didnt' b/c I forgot! MAKE SURE right side swing beam is level or you won't get that bolt in! READ AND RE-READ instructions...they're ok, but do NOT clearly spell out which way to turn boards or what side is up/down left/right. You can easily install a piece wrong and find out too late! LOOK AHEAD to see where other holes go and line-up... COOL set though...worth the $$ and effort.
Thank you for the review
Great value for the money!
My wife and I looked at many different playsets before finally deciding on the Skyfort. The shipment and delivery from Sams Club was super fast and was delivered within a week. The boxes took quite a beating from the shipment, and the shipping co only sent 1 guy to unload; that is roughly 200lbs per each big sized box. The delivery guy still put the boxes into our garage and not on the curb as described, great service and kudos to this one guy! We noted the box damage on the form so the delivery guy can leave, and took accountability of the wood contents, nothing was damaged or missing. I didn't really count the hardware since there was so many and it was in another box inside the big box, so I figured since it was still intact everything was there unless they miscounted at the factory. The setup took about 30 working hours total = 10 hours working alone during the workweek and 2 full weekends (10 hours with help of a friend and 10 hours alone#. The directions were pretty straight forward, and I counted two spots where the directions were not accurate #e.g. wrong hardware part numbers between pictures diagrams and worded directions). In the end after the project was said and done, all that I was missing were two 5/16" washers, which I happened to have spares in my toolbox. Not bad at all, fortunately for me I didn't have to run to the store like some others did. The set is extremely sturdy, it is anchored into the ground by 8 stakes total and does not shift or move at all even when my son is on the swings. The only reason for the quality mark down is due to the strength of the floor panels, they had a tendency to bow/move a little bit while I was stepping on them; however shouldn't be a problem for the intended age target up to kids 10 years of age. Another area of concern was the beam that the monkey bar attaches to, to me it seems like the beam wouldn't support it, but it held up to my weight of 155lbs, again shouldn't be a problem for kids up to 10 years of age. Spent a little more than what we originally started at, but no regrets and absolutely love it.
Excellent all around
Got a great price that included shipping. A few minor defects in wood parts that were replaced readily by the manufacturer. Easily obtained assistance from manufacturer on questions during construction. All my kids LOVE it! So many things to do on it that they don't interfere with each other.
Thank you for the review
All around great play set and great value
I don't think there is a better value out there for play sets. We've had ours for two years now and it has held up very well. We have 5 kids and they have friends over all the time. With all the features you get with this set (monkey bars, swings, fort, slide, etc.) it is hard to believe the price. I did opt for the install package that was another $600 but it was worth it. I would recommend water sealing it early on in some form or fashion (see other reviews for good ideas). We did not until just a few days ago and it will be fine but probably would have been an easier project a year ago. My only complainant are the "windows". For mine they just stapled them in and the kids eventually started pulling them out. I recommend you get some screws and screw them in if your installer does not. Great product at really great price. Highly recommend.
My husband put it together. He said it was fairly easy to put it together. He recommends going through to make sure you have all the parts and keeping boxes separated. He said it took roughly 24 hours to assemble. The kids love it. It's very attractive looking in the yard too. We purchased it through Sams because it was $500 less than it was with a competitor.
Thank you for the 5-star review, we are happy to hear that you are enjoying your set
Excellent Purchase
We had looked a long time for a reasonably price swing set with all of the features we wanted. I am so glad we picked this one. There are A LOT of pieces but as long as you follow the directions step by step it is an easy assembly! The kids love it and we couldn't be happier with our purchase.
Works for big kids too
I purchased this after months of researching trying to find a playset that my oldest child could also enjoy. She is 9 but big for her age (4’9”), and it took a lot of time to find a set that would work for all 5 of our kids (ages 1, 4, 7, 7, 9). This does take time to put together. With my husband and I working hard, and kids finding the wood parts for us, it took about 20 hours of work. We were very impressed with the quality of the hardware. Once it is put together it is very sturdy. Two of my older kids can be swinging high on the swings and the entire set stays still and doesn’t move at all. This also works well for older kids or taller kids. They will have to duck through the occasional doorway, but most of the areas work great for them. My husband and I (5’11” and 6’3”) could both stand up straight together in the upstairs clubhouse while we were putting the roof on. Overall very happy with the quality for the price
