freezer has worked great after 1 year warranty expired. no problems until one morning. i lost everything in my freezer. followed the manual with no result. what our family discovered is that the door was not fully closed properly and the evaporator coil froze over with ice. thawed out evaporator, now freezer works great ! i wish the "door alarm" was louder. i still would purchase the product again.

I bought one of these as a back up for large family gatherings at our summer home. My main fridge can't handle a crowd. It was very nice but small. So I purchased another last August. It had a broken hinge that was somehow rigged so that we didn't notice. We used it only for one month. This spring the door would not close tightly. Called for service and it was pointed out that the main hinge which is a large heavy strong part had been cracked. A person could not have done that and it was assumed that maybe it fell off the truck somehow. It was not in the carton upon delivery. So we waited for the part and a second appointment for the repair. Now a few months later it stopped working all together. Not even the light will go on. The warranty company who only comes to our Long Island area once per week on Tuesday came just to diagnose but could not because she could not get the power on. She tested my outlets and the connection to the power it not the problem. So after waiting two weeks for a repair appointment (I could not cancel a previous appointment the first Tueday after I called) the only thing she could do was schedule yet another appointment so she can order some parts that will allow her to just to diagnose the problem. I am sure then she will order parts, wait for parts to come in, and reschedule a repair. By the time the repair will be made I will have lost the entire peak season for guests. I called Samsung to see if they would replace it under the lemon law but all I get is a call center somewhere in Asia, maybe the Phillipeans but I am not sure. I am sure that they could not help me. Will they just string me along until the warranty runs out? Frustrating.

this is a state-of-the art upright, sleek and beautiful freezer that is like nothing else out there. kudos to the samsung designers and engineers! it belongs in your home and if you have space in your kitchen, it's perfect there. unfortunately, we had to put ours in the basement utility room but it sure glamorizes the space! the photos of the freezer don't do it justice, you have to actually see it up close. no wonder you can't find these in stock in retail appliance stores -- anyone with half a brain will buy this over an ugly chest freezer. we're so lucky we got one, and the delivery was super. only a moron would buy this for their garage .

Biggest mistake ever made. Should have read more reviews.. Great design, filled the freezer. Bought in Nov 2023, 3 months later went from blowing cold air to blowing hot air. Everything was lost as the freezer became an oven while i was at work. Took over a month for them to finally get the parts they said needed, come out and fix it. Loads of lost work time as they scheduled, canceled, rescheduled, canceled, then give an all day window. They put all new lines, motherboard, etc. Then 2 days later stops working. A total nightmare of a freezer and the loss work time, loss of all the food was very costly.

Tried out the Kimchi fridge from Samsung, and despite that being nearly perfect, it wasn't deep enough to hold a keg. But the features on it were awesome. I switched to this because I liked the ability to switch between a fridge and freezer with the digital readout. Unfortunately for me, the fridge isn't wide enough to hold 2 kegs side by side (the little ridges for the trays and drawers stick out too far) and the compressor sticks out too far to fit them diagonally on the bottom. Putting them on the next shelf up works, but then I can't stack a second one tall on the shelves above. So close to being perfect. Only need another inch or so wide and tall to make it work. Only the bottom drawer is usable in this case. Luckily, I typically only have 2 kegs full at a time, and this fridge gives me lots of convenient storage above and on the door. My only other complaint is that the fridge and freezer mode lock you into certain temperature ranges. I would love to be able to set this to 32F or even a bit lower like the Kimchi fridge, but it won't let you. Setting it as a freezer takes it all the way down to 5F or so. Otherwise it's nice and compact.

I found this item from searching online and thought it was the perfect size. I was also intrigued that it could either freeze or cool based on what I needed it to do. Lastly, it was stainless and will look good in my garage for years to come.

Was concerned as I could not see it in person before buying, however it turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The pull-out drawers are perfect for separating beef, chicken, fish, and kids treats. No more digging into a chest freezer. The drawers can be removed if you want extra shelf space. Would highly recommend this freezer.

The refrigerator compressor went down in my refrigerator and I needed a freezer while storing some things with the neighbor. I saw this freezer/refrigerator and decided it would be great for my needs. It has a very spacious foot print and fits in the garage nicely. Easy to find what you are looking for and does a fantastic job at maintaining a constant freeze temperature. Food does not get defrosted and iced up like in the refrigerator/freezer due to the high swings in temperature for defrosting needs. So far this has been a dream come true and the way freezers should be made. I have changed my kitchen now to the Samsung induction stove/oven and the convection microwave which work together quite nicely. Samsung definiatly has the user in mind in creating their appliances.
