I bought one of these as a back up for large family gatherings at our summer home. My main fridge can't handle a crowd. It was very nice but small. So I purchased another last August. It had a broken hinge that was somehow rigged so that we didn't notice. We used it only for one month. This spring the door would not close tightly. Called for service and it was pointed out that the main hinge which is a large heavy strong part had been cracked. A person could not have done that and it was assumed that maybe it fell off the truck somehow. It was not in the carton upon delivery. So we waited for the part and a second appointment for the repair. Now a few months later it stopped working all together. Not even the light will go on. The warranty company who only comes to our Long Island area once per week on Tuesday came just to diagnose but could not because she could not get the power on. She tested my outlets and the connection to the power it not the problem. So after waiting two weeks for a repair appointment (I could not cancel a previous appointment the first Tueday after I called) the only thing she could do was schedule yet another appointment so she can order some parts that will allow her to just to diagnose the problem. I am sure then she will order parts, wait for parts to come in, and reschedule a repair. By the time the repair will be made I will have lost the entire peak season for guests. I called Samsung to see if they would replace it under the lemon law but all I get is a call center somewhere in Asia, maybe the Phillipeans but I am not sure. I am sure that they could not help me. Will they just string me along until the warranty runs out? Frustrating.

beautiful freezer (converts to fridge) that is able to hold tons of food. a necessity for families and especially during lockdown. not sure how anyone can consider a chest freezer when access to food is so simple and organized. if its in stock, buy it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I identified this freezer for my wish list about a year ago, been tracking them online and when I was ready Samsung had the best deal, direct from them. Delivery was expertly handled, and it's a REALLY nice freezer. Only had it a few weeks, but after I figured out how to unlock the controls to change the temp, I set it at zero and it is so far frost-free and right at zero. It DID come with the hardware to switch the door from right-hand to left, but I have not used that yet nor have I investigated whether it will be feasible. I had read that others had issues with switching the door. In summary, a very well thought-out approach to a freezer that has the versatility to also be a backup refrigerator. Glad I own it!

My only gripe is that requires a professional to change the door to open from the left side. You can but Samsung highly recommends a pro do it. Couldn’t be more happy with this purchase. Would buy a 2nd for a freezer if I had the room.

Fix this and it would be an amazing product.

It quickly turned into the only freezer we use for food, even with the added hassle of traveling to and from the garage to get items. It is sleek, sexy, and very very cold. I have it set to -5F and my bluebooth thermometer indicates the freezer maintains temps between -4 and -2F continuously, except for the defrost cycles where it hits 8F for a brief moment as it heats the evaporator core. Vacuum sealed meat I've had in there for months looks pristine and brand new still. Non-vacuum sealed meat looks great, with only the frost buildup from defrosting slightly on the trip from the store to home. I would buy it again without reservation.

It is slim and sleek on the outside while the inside keeps everything super organized. Overall the fridge will be used mainly for freezer purposes, but may convert to fridge on an as needed basis. The only complaint I have is that the door is not easily reversible and it runs quite hot on the sides in my garage sometimes.

It also keeps food extremely cold! I love having ice cream and popsicles in the freezer without worrying if they are thawing or getting freezer burn. Highly recommend this freezer if you are wanting something for a smaller space or kitchen and don’t want to ruin your decor with an ugly appliance!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for the specific purpose of being able to hold overflow of food being brought to us whilst dealing with upcoming surgery and subsequent recovery. Preferred vertical freezer over chest freezer both for ease of access to food and smallest footprint. This freezer was perfect in both respects. It is frost-free and EnergyStar rated, which are two other criteria I wanted in a freezer. Installation went fairly well, though the leveling was a little more difficult than it should be, in my opinion. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the freezer brought the temperature down to the set temperature - did not need nearly the time specified in the manual. Also, even though this freezer is in my basement, I did not want to listen to a lot of noise and the freezer delivers - could not even hear it 10 ft away. Bottom line - this freezer cost more than I wanted to spend but the vertical type and the small footprint were my top two criteria. It was far less expensive than other freezers meeting this criteria. So far it has worked great and I really like it. Plus, I also have the option, once the additional freezer space is no longer required, of switching to refrigerator mode and using it for storing drinks and snacks. Would I buy it again? Hell, yeah!
