I recently canceled my TV cable connection and went straight to Wi-Fi. I am experimenting with what is available to the roku. I have not signed app for any live programs yet there is enough on roku to satisfy my viewing needs at this time. I do have a subscription to Netflix and peacock.

I’ve owned several Roku models and have never had much luck with the sticks because the remotes never seem to work. But it had been a few years since I tried a stick so I thought the problems must have been worked out by now. Nope. The remote just doesn’t work consistently. It will work for a few button pushes, then stop responding. The TV volume and power still work, but the RF talking to the stick just stops. New batteries? Didn’t work. HDMI extender? Nope. USB plugged directly into the wall? Nope. Updating the device? Done, no help. Nothing works. And the sad part is I replaced an existing 3800X with this because of… remote problems. Back it goes and a new Ultra is on the way, hopefully the new rechargeable remote doesn’t have the same issues.

I bought this Roku because the apps were struggling on my LG with WebOS. I had an older one in the bedroom and had no complaints. Bought thus new one for the basement and all my streaming issues went away. Love the fact that the Roku will now turn on the TV and control the volume as well. Voice recognition is a bonus. Definitely recommend a Roku.

my biggest complaints are: there no restart function like the other brand stick, Roku makes you master reset and loose all your data, subscriptions etc. I've find unpluging helps it unlock/stuck/freezes up. Also when you watch closed caption CC, if you set what color and size you want like white box & black letters a all black box and black letter shoes up. For some reason it wont work in HDMI 2 but well in HDMI 3, but my other brand of stick works fine in 2 & 3.

I have always loved Roku over firestick. However, since buying a new Roku, suddenly, the sound cuts out every couple of minutes. I looked into it and there are several threads and blogs complaining that there is no way of fixing it... That Roku always reverts back to check your cables. I cannot in good faith recommend this product any longer.

The main issue I have is the remote never works. Almost daily I find myself having to remove a battery, then put it back in for the remote to work. This has happened on every Roku I have purchased and every TV I have in the house. Very poorly made and frustrating.

The Roku Stick provides great picture quality, but this is the third version I have had to buy. They over heat or something. After a time, they just quit working and I have to replace it and reinstall all the streaming stations. I would hope to have more longevity

I bought two of these since we were cutting cable for total streaming. I wanted something up to date and powerful enough to deal with the wifi. These seem to work great and hide behind the TV sets nicely. They do also plug into an electrical outlet so remember to have a receptive nearby.

I love the savings, do not like the forcced NFL Ads that I have to really work to get off my screne so I can see. MY CHOICES...It would be good to have a NO THANK YOU BUTTON that would block it for ever, unless a request wouold be instituted by me. A navigation guide would be great !

The Roku Streaming Stick 4K is a faster device than the previous Express or low end devices. The blue tooth version works better than the IR version. The channels flip through the selection quickly and the selected channel comes up quickly. I wish the Roku TV set that I have would do the same. Seems like they need that technology in their TVs.
