Had two of these... self propel does not last

The first mower lasted almost one season. No warranty shops listed in 50 miles would work on it. Returned it for refund. Bought a second one thinking the first was just a lemon. The self propel gearbox bearing went out on it, too, in less than two seasons. The belt had been replaced, but it, too burnt up the two plastic pulleys. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I may have to eat this one because it is out of warranty.

Engine is junk

Bought this mower and was great for the 1st 3 mowings of the season then started to sputter at EVERY use with increasing frequency and, by the end of summer, simply wouldn't start. Since it was beyond the 90 day warranty for outdoor power equipment, it was no longer covered by Sam's. I was directed to Briggs and Stratton who FULL on refused to honor the warranty (NO KIDDING!) They accused me of using bad gas. I offered to bring the mower in for service and even pay for it if the fix was something not covered. They refused to even look at it!! With Briggs' refusal to look at it, I can only assume they were afraid that there would be a warranty issue. By their refusal, The bottom line is THE ENGINE ON THIS MOWER DOES NOT HAVE A 2 YEAR WARRANTY. I ended up junking the mower. On the upside, my local recycler gave me $3 taking away some of the sting.

Seems to be a great value for the money!

Just finished putting the mower together and giving it a quick test. I will say that the "quick start" sheet is useless! Just use the manual to assemble it and you'll be fine! Oh, and raise the deck (wheel adjust level) to "3" or higher, or you'll never get the bolts for the lower handle installed! What impressed me most is that I filled it with oil, added about 1/2 tank of gas, and gave the pull cord one gentle tug. It started right up! That is Briggs and Stratton quality! The only complaint I have so far is that the drive is a little fast for my taste. But, so far, I would highly recommend this mower. Get it while it's on sale, as it's worth the price!

Good while it worked, only for 4 months.

While I did enjoy the mower and it did the job while it worked, it only worked for about 4 months. I used it very lightly, as I have a ride on mower for the majority of my yard, yet after no more than 4 uses it no longer stays running. It starts up and shuts right off. I'm sure that there is a fix for it, and I'm perfectly capable of doing so (I already changed the gas, cleaned the carburetor, etc.) however in no way should I have to perform repairs on a less than 6 month old machine after only 4 uses. Now, I'm out over $300 because it's past the 90 day return window from Sam's. Not their fault, but extremely poor manufacturing IMO.

Self propelled noonl

I purchased this mower a year or so ago. At first it was great did a good job,but maybe six months ago the self propelled feature stopped working I have tried to get in touch with the company to troubleshoot the problem but to no avail. I'm sure it's an easy fix but I don't know. All in all I would not recommend this mower.

Worst Mower I have ever bought

Self propeller doesn't work. I did call the manufacturer who provided independent warranty repair support sites in Palmetto and Carterville GA. None of the repair shops would take on the repair work because they can not get parts for this brand. They've stopped accepting the brand for repair work. Waste of my $380! and time!

Great customer service from Sam's and Yard Force

I thought I was done because I bought an older model Yard Force mower at Sam's Club, had it delivered, and this was in May 2020. Since I was taking care of my mother and had a bad knee, I paid someone to mow, & didn't actually open the box until May 2021. The mower worked well, had multiple grass settings and was easy to use with rear wheel drive for the hills. A friend took over for me, using the mower & liked it. But this year, it wouldn't start. I found the old receipt, called the #, and Sam's said the YF mower has a 2-yr. warranty. Sam's refunded me & will pick it up for return. Now, that's terrific service! Thanks, Sam's Club. I'll give YF another try, too, since there's a new model on sale now. Remember to drain your gas at year's end & maybe use Mechanic in a Bottle or Sea Foam to clean the carburetor. For sure, I'm keeping my Sam's membership!

Underpowered mower for those with a decent sized l

I guess you get what you pay for these days. We bought this, the cheapest mower we could find, to finish cutting my 1/3 acre yard after my John Deere lawn tractor died. I searched high and low for used mowers under $100 to no avail. Then I checked out Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes. Nothing under $350. I had no idea push mowers have gotten so expensive. Seeing this mower on sale at Sam's Club for $279 seemed like a bargain. First appearances were great. It is a beautiful machine and very easy to assemble. Start up took 3 pulls but that was acceptable. I didn't find the pace of the self-propelled mode to be too brisk for my 72 year old body. However, I am finding the engine to be vastly underpowered for my Texas grass. I often had to go over the same spot multiple times to get an even cut. When I hit a particularly thick patch the mower stopped and I had a helluva time getting it restarted in the 90+ degree heat. I did finally get the yard cut after far more effort than I had hoped. Can't wait for my John Deere to be repaired and returned because this baby just doesn't cut it (pun intended). Hopefully I can just use it to trim along my fenceline and house. Definitely not ideal for my full yard. As for the complaints about the blade - mine seemed a bit dull but I intend to take take it off and hand sharpen it in a vise next go 'round.

Gluhwein -I'm sorry to hear about your mowing experience. The mower is equipped with a 150cc Briggs and Stratton engine, specifically tested to work with the deck and drive system. Here are a couple of tips that might help: avoid cutting wet grass, as it makes the mower work harder to discharge. During the spring and summer months, when growth is abundant, you may need to mow twice a week. I hope these suggestions lead to a better mowing experience next time.Enjoy your German gluhwein.Jim

Faulty Self Propelled is less than one year old

Any potential buyers, please beware! Do not buy the Yard Force Self-Propelled lawnmower, it is a lemon! Find a reputable dealer who stands behind their lawnmowers when they don't work properly. I purchased this suppose to be Self-Propelled lawnmower at Sam's Club and the self propelled lasted less than a year. Yard Force & Sam's Club have given me the run around. None of the Repair shops that Yard Force listed do not work on their lawnmowers because Yard Force takes too long to reimburse them for their repairs. I will not renew my Plus Membership with Sam's Club because they have been of no help even when I told them they should stop selling these mowers because the warranty is a "joke." This mower is too heavy to push without the self propell. I just wasted > $300 for a piece of junk. A female (who said she is the store manager in Goldsboro, NC) at Sam's Club told me she could not take this mower back and give me a replacement because I had it more than 90 days.

Great to use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This self propelled gas mower is easy to use and great to cut a lawn fast. It’s efficient and cuts down well! The storage bag for the cuttings is great and easy to dump after it fills. The back wheels being bigger make it smooth while pushing.
