Exact balance of size, weight, and cost for me

There are many models of safes. I contacted customer service and they were very helpful in determining the correct model in which I could place my laptops without tilting them. I found an excellent price online and received the safe yesterday. As received condition was excellent and installation was easy. I chose not to bolt down the safe to maintain water-resistance. Primary application is fire-protection (and water protection from fire fighting) and protection against smash-and-grab type theft. I don't expect or need to have protection against professional safe crackers. The weight of the unit was just manageable for me (70 years old) using a two-wheeled hand cart.

Handle broke

I'm the Facilities Director at a Credit Union and we install Sentry Safes at all our branches to keep our debit card stock in. We have a newer SFW205EVB model at a branch with a broken handle. Is there a way to purchase just the handle mechanism for this model?

Not brand new

What I recieved and what shows on the picture is not the same. I wanted the one which has the key option, in case the digital key pad does not work. Twice they sent me the one with no lock option. Plus the safe is missing items inside. The big shelf not there. IT looks like a refurbished safe that I got both times. Unacceptable.

Need more shelves!!

I previoulsy had a smaller Sentry Safe for 20+ years. I purchased this larger model recently and it only has TWO shelves! My main reason for purchasing was to have more storage room. This model came from the factory with only two shelves!!! I need THREE or Four more shelves to use for jewelery etc. PLease advise on purchasing the correct shelves. Thank you.

Doesn’t open. Things mold inside.

Sorry, but this safe is big problem. The electronic lock opens only after you let it sit after entering the code correctly six or seven times. I could live with that but things inside get moldy. Not sure what the point of a safe is if its contents get mold damaged when it’s locked and is sitting in a conditioned environment. I have two older Sentry models, one in the steamy attic, and neither has these problems—and combo locks never fail. I have to say, this model seems to have some issues that need to be resolved.

This is my 4th safe, all with cosmetic issues.

after unpacking and Installing batteries, door did not unlock with the default code until like the 4th try. Edges are not well aligned, you can see some kind of cement or powder/rocks on the edges, when I first opened the safe it was dirty in the inside with white sand/cement. Was not impress , but price is fair, size is perfect. I wonder if after a fire, the plastic keypad and handle will melt?

Strong and Secure

I feel this safe does meet my needs, I was disappointed at the wasted space at the front of the safe about 2 before the slots for the bolts of the door to lock in and makes the inside depth considerably less than the outside measurements, and when you are researching items like this from pictures online, you can see this or well enough to make a decision on buying large size, example a file folder will not go in this safe the long way front to back we had to stand them on the narrow end to be able to get them in to close and lock the door, disappointing (as files could be spill and items fall out this way), wish I had known about the wasted space as I believe it says depth is approx 16" but it is not all useable space, for this reason I would tell everyone to question the actual useable space inside each and every safe they considering buying.

Great safe, could use better packaging

The safe seems to be of good quality and is the perfect size. It did arrive in rough shape from the shipper. I would strongly encourage Sentry to look into a different shipping process or packaging. They worked with me to resolve the issue tho, and so I will be back.

Don’t buy this for any reason

Eats batteries.Decides when it wants to open. One of the worst purchases I ever made. With the battery receiver apparently malfunctioning now, changing batteries will not open the safe. I am actually going to have to open it with an angle grinder. Unbelievably bad product.
