We bought this to store important documents and other valuables. Seems very well made and sturdy, is very heavy, and the four bolts and fire proof qualities coupled with the super Sam's price made it an easy sale. Only downside, and it's not a huge deal, is you have to open the safe at least monthly and either rejuvenate or replace moisture packs supplied to keep humidity from damaging anything inside. I was unaware safes like this needed any maintenance, but apparently it's due to a gel-like substance in the walls which provide the fire proteection. Other than that it's a great buy.

It's a decent starter safe.. anybody with any intelligence knows this is not going to stop a professional thief.. however it is good for keeping young prying hands off of your valuables.. being fire and semi-waterproof makes it a no-brainer.. great quality for the money..

I generally like the safe and have other sentry safes but this one I was disappointed with b/c the handle is very plasticky and feels like it could literally break b/c it's weak despite the rest of the safe feeling quite robust. When I punch in the code it sometimes doesn't open b/c the handle won't go down! I have to do the code again and try to jiggle the handle or maybe i need to twist the handle in a specific way and be consistent with that method... I would have expected an otherwise excellent product to have one very important user interface to work smoothly, reliably and to feel great since that is a major point of feedback to the user and having a cheap, weak handle really makes the user experience not ideal. So Sentry Safe, i'm sure you can invest a little extra into the handle design and win back my satisfaction. But the rest of the safe feels very good, solid, hinges move smoothly. The LED light that turns out when the door opens is very nice touch. The ability to turn off the beeping noise when entering a code is great (vs my other safe which doesn't do it as far as I could find in manual or online). The keypad works nicey and that interface is working well. Hope this feedback helps you.

We are happy with our safe purchase. It holds all of our important documents, and I'm no longer concerned about fire or flood damage as our important paperwork is safe and all located in one place. Also makes it easier to locate important documents when required.

Poor excuse for a safe. The spring for the lock actuator is so weak that if you jar the safe on the front and turn the handle it will unlock. Behind the door is a sorry excuse for locking bolts. I would have felt better had this been marketed as a fireproof/waterproof “case” and not a “safe”. 0% security.

This safe is ideal for our use but the one concern I have is the bulbous, overly flexible handle. It was also annoying to only receive one cheap plastic shelf insert with the purchase... A couple of hangars or second shelf would have been nice for the price.

Great safe only concern is that because it is waterproof which is a great bonus, the safe must be opened one a month otherwise documents or jewelry will get damaged. If I went away on a long trip over a month someone else would have to open it for me!!!

I had a little difficulty opening the safe but eventually was able to open it. The booklet is not very clear and does not really tell you what the C and P stand for in the booklet. Other than I was able to enter the permanent code and my personal code.

I found this safe perfectly meets our needs such as manageable size, fire-proof and water-proof abilities (although I didn't test those criteria being claimed). The only negative but important issue is its lock system. First of all, the plastic handle is a bit fragile. The number system is pretty easy to resolved if someone continues to try all combinations once entering the house. I hope there is a limited number of trials then the door will be locked for say 60 minutes before the second trial.

Very nice small safe. I wish it were about 4” taller, but to get that feature, others were too large overall for my space. On the whole, I am satisfied after a week’s ownership, for what that is worth. I bought two extra shelves to accommodate my needs.
