It's a decent starter safe.. anybody with any intelligence knows this is not going to stop a professional thief.. however it is good for keeping young prying hands off of your valuables.. being fire and semi-waterproof makes it a no-brainer.. great quality for the money..

This safe is ideal for our use but the one concern I have is the bulbous, overly flexible handle. It was also annoying to only receive one cheap plastic shelf insert with the purchase... A couple of hangars or second shelf would have been nice for the price.

Safe was delivered with no damage. It was a Christmas present for my son who is required to carry a gun for his job. Plenty of room for his pistol, magazines, and holster, with a lot of room left over for other items you want to protect. Opens easily and quickly with push-button lock (after you install batteries) and even has a light inside to see your items in low light conditions. I feel much better that his gun is locked up whenever he is home and inaccessible to my granddaughter. Too heavy for anyone to grab it and run away easily. Also has hardware to attach to floor for even more safety. No good way to test for fire and water protection, but items inside seem to be very well protected and insulated.

I bought one for each of my 4 grown kids w/family these will be perfect for all grandkids birth certificates, car papers, passports and special photos so they can get to quickly in case of an emergency they know right where to go.. Great family gift!

We bought this to store important documents and other valuables. Seems very well made and sturdy, is very heavy, and the four bolts and fire proof qualities coupled with the super Sam's price made it an easy sale. Only downside, and it's not a huge deal, is you have to open the safe at least monthly and either rejuvenate or replace moisture packs supplied to keep humidity from damaging anything inside. I was unaware safes like this needed any maintenance, but apparently it's due to a gel-like substance in the walls which provide the fire proteection. Other than that it's a great buy.

When we expanded our master closet, we included space for a wall safe to keep important papers and jewelry. After researching many options we decided on the Sentry safe and have been very pleased with it. It was easy to install, and is easy to operate. We have peace of mind knowing our items are secure.

Our large gun safe is a pain in the butt to open quickly, and doesn’t have an official fire rating. This little guy seemed like the perfect fit to store smaller items with an added layer of protection. Easy to open very quickly, the light, gray and keypad all do exactly what they’re supposed to, and it’s heavy enough that you couldn’t move it quietly. 5/5

Easy to install and use. So far so good. I was accidentally turned the door handle down to lock position while it still opened (all 4 bars were out) and couldn't find any instructions to undo that, I had to search Google and find out all I had to do was removed the battery compartment and voilà, the safe is reset. Wished Sentry have that in Trouble Shooting sections of the manual.

the best part is as you open it, the drawer is so high that if by bad luck someone was close, they would not see there is a drawer at all because it ride so high in the safe when position in top rail and it makes a perfect place for my pistol. Of course because mine sits on the flor in my walk in and not at my eyes height.

This is a good product that seems to be very secure (of course, you can't rate the security until it's needed - like when there's a fire or an attempt to break in). The only issue I see is it has a large plastic "SentrySafe" logo glued to the door of the safe, so it's hard to hide - you have to cover it, or place items in front of it. Hard to imagine why you would need the logo there during use - are you advertising to thieves?
