I can check in on them when I'm not home and it makes me feel safe that they are doing ok and not getting into too much trouble. Since my cats have their own room I know there is a good place to put the camera but this would be a great camera to put also outside for security too. I like how easy it is to use.

That within itself says a lot because I'm not usually tech savvy. It was extremely user friendly and took no time! I'm highly impressed with the image quality even the night time mode surpassed my expectations beyond belief! They out done themselves with this tiny but mighty little camera. It gives us peace of mind for sure! We are thrilled to be able to check in the house whenever we are away. Absolutely hands down a good, quality little investment. Would highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Nest Cam to monitor activity on the side of our home that leads into our yard. This area is a blind spot for us and faces the entrance to our cul-de-sac. We own a couple of other Nest products and it is a reputable brand that I trust with performance and longevity. This camera also has several features which helped in making our decision to get this camera. It can be used indoors or outdoors, it is powered by the built-in rechargeable battery, and it can provide intelligent notifications (motion is caused by people, animals, or vehicles). This product was very easy to set up and install. You will first need to plug the Nest Cam into an outlet, download the Google Home app, create an account and follow the steps to set up the camera by selecting Nest Cam(battery). There is a sticker on the camera lens which has a QR code that you will need to scan to connect the camera to your home's Wi-Fi network. After connecting, you will be given the opportunity to enroll in a 15-day Nest Aware trial period which one needs to view recordings longer than the most recent 3 hours and also the face recognition feature. This is a con to me when subscriptions are required to reap further benefits. Installing the Nest Cam was quite simple as all you need to do is attach the mounting plate, with the enclosed screws and anchors, to the area you want to place the camera then lock the magnetic plate onto the mounting plate and secure the camera to the magnetic plate. The camera holds steadily once installed. The beauty of it being battery powered is that you can place it anywhere! The video quality is superb for both day and night and the motion detection and intelligent notifications were precise. I liked that these alerts can be tailored such as you may only want to be notified when a person causes the motion and not a car or animal. The app is easy to use and we are reassured that we can readily monitor our house while we are home or away.

It's small enough that it doesn't look tacky mounted on my porch. The camera allows me to check on my home any time that I am away. It alerts me during activity and night vision makes it more versatile.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thing, and maybe this should be obvious, this can really only be used cordless if you are going to regularly charge it or if there is some easy way to plug it in and also hang it. (There is not at my house.) You can get an exterior cord or a stand as accessories but we chose to set it up to monitor our lower level family room, where our dog and 10 year old hang out. The magnetic wall mount, while technically not meant to be used for a table top, worked fine for our purposes. Set up took under 5 minutes as we joined our existing Nest network. The camera is picture quality is really good in with adequate lighting and OK in darker settings.

I love the fact that this camera is wireless, because my garage has only 2 outlets, and one is for the garage door opener. The video picture quality is really clear and communicates really well with the Google home app. Very easy to mount and great for someone who likes to move the camera from one area to another. I'm happy and impressed with another great product from Google.

The picture quality is amazing as well as night time mode. The notifications work great. The interface on the nest app is very simple to use. This is a must have camera that does a great job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It literally took 10 minutes to install the camera and 10 minutes to download the app including configuring the camera. I set it up in my entryway and found it quite easy to change settings to meet my needs so it was only triggering for the area I wanted. I am thinking that I will get another for the back door soon.

Collectively between my multiple accounts I probably on over 100 nest products. I won't go so far as to say this is by far the worst, but the battery life is terrible if it is in an area that is used somewhat frequently. Don't expect it to last very long. It does not turn on when events need to be captured, and it captures events that do not need to be captured.

The only thing I m not happy is view of camera is giving me. Tech recommended current site but view is kind of narrow. Also didn't realize that battery runs down fast unlike my nest doorbell which is hard wired and able to see my porch to see packages arrive. Will get 2nd gen hub for viewing.
