Installation was very easy…just follow the prompts in the Google Home App. We had ours up and running within 10 minutes. Ours is installed inside our student's apartment so that they can see when people are entering and leaving their unit. Great way to give you peace of mind that you know who is entering your apartment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TLDR: This is an excellent security camera with some really great features. This webcam goes out of its way to make everything as easy as possible. Setting it up with the Google Home app was very quick and painless. I love the way magnetism is used to secure the cam to the base. The fact that it uses a battery means you don't have to worry about constantly powering it and taking it down to charge, thanks to the magnet, is a snap. I also love that it comes with enough memory to store 3 hours worth of captures so I can get a lot of use out of it without having to sign up for a monthly service fee. Viewing the capture history is also really easy. The interface on the Google Home app is far better than several of the other top brands I've tried. Another big plus for this is how quickly the live video comes up. I wish my doorbell worked this well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already have a couple of wired Nest cameras, running cables to sockets in the garage and on the back porch, so I was interested in the idea of a wireless camera. I was a little skeptical of how well that would work, but as you still have the option of using it wired, it would be ok if that aspect didn't work out. To test the operation, I set the camera up in the kitchen, a relatively high traffic area of the house so the camera would get plenty of exercise. When running on battery, the camera apparently sits in a low-power, standby mode until it senses motion, then turns on the camera, as opposed to continually recording like its wired siblings. You can also connect to it and view a live stream whenever you want. The magnetic base stuck well to the side of the fridge, so it served for a temporary location. The base has fittings for attaching to a wall - screws and all included. After a week, the battery level was reported to my phone as down to 55%, which I thought was pretty decent for the number of times we were triggering it and the length of time it was active. For monitoring the alley that runs next to my home, with much less activity, I can see having having to charge the camera maybe every 3-4 weeks or longer. I'd consider this a preferable alternative to hard wiring, especially as it makes moving the camera much easier. The software side is a mixed bag. The instructions guide you into connecting the camera up through Google Home on my phone, which I did. Now I can view the camera alongside my other Nest cameras in the Google Home app, but the camera isn't shown in the Nest app. With the other cameras, I can view them on my pc, through the Nest website, but I haven't found out how to view this new camera on my pc yet. Maybe I need to add it through my Nest app, too? I'm not sure what the plan is there, whether the entire Nest app is being absorbed into Google Home, or what. The online information is a little mixed about this. Anyway, the options on the phone are great - you can define areas of the camera's view to monitor, whether you want triggers on just people or animals or sound, etc. The built in microphone and speaker are good. You can hear clearly on both sides. It's not a feature I've used on my other cameras - other than to prank the kids - but it's good to know it's there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed this camera for my elderly parents to monitor their front door. The setup was super easy. I just had to find a good area to mount the magnetic base, and the camera magnetically snaps to the base. Since it is not fixed, you can move and position the camera on the base however you need. The camera is powered by an integrated rechargeable battery, so no need to run wires. My mother easily downloaded and setup the app on her phone and within minutes she had the camera connected to wifi and they were up and running with no input from me. The app notifies them when the battery is low and they simple grab the camera off the magnetic base and plug it into the provided charging cable. Highly recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I finally got my Nest Camera yesterday and got it set up immediately. It is a really nice compact little camera. It was easy to migrate with my other Nest product (smoke alarm). The camera has a nice clear picture. I haven't quite decided where I'm going to permanently place it. I plan to use it to monitor my doggy. I like that I can charge camera and that it also has a battery. If you want a nice, small and compact camera I highly recommend the Nest product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Google Nest camera is a decent security camera. Install wasn't bad, pretty straightforward and everything you need for set-up is included. The picture quality is decent, about what I'd expect. Nothing spectacular. I wish it offered some recordings without having to subscribe to their service though. That's the only real downside.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My initial thought when I opened the box is that the device is quite large. From a technical/design standpoint, the look itself is very sleek and unobtrusive for any decor, a very modern look. The magnet itself is very strong and allows for a wide range of positioning of the camera. Although you can get it to exactly 90 degrees, otherwise the magnet will start to repel. The device comes with various components including wires and mounting plate and some other hardware accessories. The set up of the device was fairly simple, very similar to my google home set up. It is set up in the same app. It even goes into installation tutorials depending on where you are installing and what type of material you are installing into. Overall, very easy to set up I think. There are cool features within the device if you have compatible google devices like presence sensing and various routine settings. There are also various subscriptions for the device if it is needed. Overall it's quality security camera and allows you for great customizations and live communication. I think my only concern with the device is using it outdoors. Although water hesitant the camera is not fully weatherproof. The accessories provided, despite being a pricey unit, is not suited for outdoor use. You would have to buy a longer watherproof cable and anti-theft mountings for safe outdoor use in my opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thing, and maybe this should be obvious, this can really only be used cordless if you are going to regularly charge it or if there is some easy way to plug it in and also hang it. (There is not at my house.) You can get an exterior cord or a stand as accessories but we chose to set it up to monitor our lower level family room, where our dog and 10 year old hang out. The magnetic wall mount, while technically not meant to be used for a table top, worked fine for our purposes. Set up took under 5 minutes as we joined our existing Nest network. The camera is picture quality is really good in with adequate lighting and OK in darker settings.

It's small and compact. It was easy to setup and super easy to connect. I was able to see on my mobile device what was going on outside my home with ease. You can use the piece to stick it right into any wall. I am very happy with this camera and have since purchased several more for around my home.
