[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hey folks, I have the google nest doorbell and was really excited about this new outdoor nest cam. For me, it's primary use is watching my back door and my dogs. For that, it is perfect. The image is very clear, it plugs right into all of the google home devices (and now you see it in google home VS in the nest app) and it is very easy to set up, which is its greatest perk. Don't forget to update your google home app if you're unable to find it, that cost me 10 minutes!

The magnetic mount is handy and avoids complex installation. 4. The app is very intuitive and easy to connect with the camera. The clarity of the picture is very good. 5. It is weather sealed, so it should take the abuse of outdoor installation. 6. The camera itself is small and doesn't grab attention. 7. The wifi reception is very good for a long range. The only con I can think of is a lack of removable battery, which means that once the camera runs out of battery, you need to physically take the camera and charge it.

I installed it under my upper deck facing my dock. The clarity is great and I use it often to check the status of my dock and boat. This is a product that I will certainly recommend to my family and friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got a Nest Cam that I set up at my front door to record who comes and goes. It is easy to set up. Just down load the app and charge up the camera and you are good to go. You just follow the prompts and it helps you set it up. The plate attaches with just two screws and the camera attaches with strong magnets. I now can see when some one approaches my door and see when packages get delivered. I also like that it gives a more security, some people may think twice before they take a package if a camera is there.

This camera would be excellent for someone that does not have many technical skills as it pretty much does all the work for you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have the indoor wired camera already on my google app and when I tried to connect this it wouldn't. I contacted customer service and they were great to deal with. They ended up having me uninstall my existing camera and then reinstall both cameras. It worked and installation was a breeze after that. The magnetic base the camera sits in is very strong. You can set up notifications on your phone through the app to be notified anytime your camera detects motion. Overall a great product and I would recommend it to everyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I already have a couple of wired Nest cameras, running cables to sockets in the garage and on the back porch, so I was interested in the idea of a wireless camera. I was a little skeptical of how well that would work, but as you still have the option of using it wired, it would be ok if that aspect didn't work out. To test the operation, I set the camera up in the kitchen, a relatively high traffic area of the house so the camera would get plenty of exercise. When running on battery, the camera apparently sits in a low-power, standby mode until it senses motion, then turns on the camera, as opposed to continually recording like its wired siblings. You can also connect to it and view a live stream whenever you want. The magnetic base stuck well to the side of the fridge, so it served for a temporary location. The base has fittings for attaching to a wall - screws and all included. After a week, the battery level was reported to my phone as down to 55%, which I thought was pretty decent for the number of times we were triggering it and the length of time it was active. For monitoring the alley that runs next to my home, with much less activity, I can see having having to charge the camera maybe every 3-4 weeks or longer. I'd consider this a preferable alternative to hard wiring, especially as it makes moving the camera much easier. The software side is a mixed bag. The instructions guide you into connecting the camera up through Google Home on my phone, which I did. Now I can view the camera alongside my other Nest cameras in the Google Home app, but the camera isn't shown in the Nest app. With the other cameras, I can view them on my pc, through the Nest website, but I haven't found out how to view this new camera on my pc yet. Maybe I need to add it through my Nest app, too? I'm not sure what the plan is there, whether the entire Nest app is being absorbed into Google Home, or what. The online information is a little mixed about this. Anyway, the options on the phone are great - you can define areas of the camera's view to monitor, whether you want triggers on just people or animals or sound, etc. The built in microphone and speaker are good. You can hear clearly on both sides. It's not a feature I've used on my other cameras - other than to prank the kids - but it's good to know it's there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It literally took 10 minutes to install the camera and 10 minutes to download the app including configuring the camera. I set it up in my entryway and found it quite easy to change settings to meet my needs so it was only triggering for the area I wanted. I am thinking that I will get another for the back door soon.
