The Home app walks me through the installation and gives me detailed instructions. Mounting is easy with the magnetic mount that's included. This camera can either be plugged in with waterproof power cables or it can run on battery. 1080p HD with night vision. Instantly get phone alerts. High quality product at an even greater value. I'm very happy with this product and the secure end results.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is really an amazing camera from Nest as it does everything only a wired camera could do before. It attaches magnetically to its base which you attach to a wall with two screws. The base allows you to point the camera in various directions after attaching. To recharge simply pull off and attach to its charging cord and it recharges fully in less than half a day. The battery life is what makes this camera so amazing. On my front door which for various reasons has people coming and going at least 50 times a day the battery is lasting over a month. This would make me consider it even for situations where I could use the wired version just because of the versatility it gives in moving it around as conditions change. It connects through Google Home and is smart enough to distinguish between people, animals and vehicles and can be set to alert at any of those. With Nest Aware it can even recognize familiar faces. Three hours of recorded video is included free which covers a lot of coming and going at your door as it only records movement. All in all a really amazing advance in security cameras and very easy to set up too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so happy to write this review for the Google Nest Cam because there is a very surprising result of this item that I didn't expect. I did my research so the ease of installation, the durable indoor/outdoor construction, and the quality, although amazing, not surprising just very appreciated. We installed our Google Nest Cam outside towards our backyard over that entrance because it's the door we use the most and is where we park. So, what we did not expect was the hilarity of the wide array of visitors to our yard and feeders! We are spending more time watching the sillies in our yard than anyone could have expected! So much so that our yard is gaining followers! We started just showing it to friends and coworkers, but had to start a page this is so funny and the camera quality is so amazing! Our littles are now planning daily treats and surprises to put out in the yard, and the participation and genuine fun we are all having with our new Goole Nest Cam is truly an unexpected joy we never expected.

The features - such as face detection and setting schedules - are very nice and, again, easy to use. We do wish it had a little better range but it reaches outside our front door. We ideally wanted it outside the garage but it was just a bit too far. Would like to see if offered in black. The magnetic base is NICE and easy to install. It allows basically any angle to be seen. We are very happy with this camera.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own numerous different cameras from multiple brands and this Nest Cam outperforms them all! Both the hardware and software are exceptional. Nest Aware is amazing. The fact that it can recognize my face and the faces of my family keeps me from constantly checking every person alert to make sure everything is alright. The picture quality is great, the motion alerts are snappy, and the user interface is intuitive. One of my favorite features is that when you get an alert, it shows you a little GIF snippet from the event, so most notifications can be dismissed with a cursory glance. The magnet holding the camera is incredibly strong, but it still allows for easy adjustment of the camera angle. The camera charges quickly as well.

When it pushes alerts to my phone I don't have to worry when I see it's just my husband that it is recognizing in our yard. The video quality is really good too! It's a bit of a wide view so it really catches a lot. You can create motion zones for the camera to ignore. The app is really the best part. It makes finding certain evnts easy! You can scroll along a timeline or view a list of fast moving video clips. I wasn't sure the 3 hours would be enough but really, it's plenty since the alerts are clear enough to let you know if it's something even actually suspicious to care about. You won't have hours and hours of useless footage to sift through since you know who it's catching. I have google nest speakers all throughout my house. One little bonus that I think is really neat is the camera syncs up with these through Google Assistant and will alert you which room it hears broken glass or siren/smoke alarm sounds! My son was using a toy with a siren and it alerted me that there was a smoke alarm sound in his room and for how long. I love that! The battery life is impressive. I have had my camera on and running for over a week and it still says over 80% life left. I'm sure that's relative to the settings you have the camera doing, but so for I'm pleased. Lastly, I want to mention that installation was a breeze. My husband has been forced by me to install other brands of cameras with wires and he was stoked with how this required NO climbing in the attack or running wires.

Disapointing.. I'm a google fan and supporter. My phone, ear buds, speakers and smart home devices are all google / nest hardware. These cameras look great! The quality feel is great. The setup was easy. The video quality was great for what I need. So why am I disapointed? Sometimes Google fails on execution, and this is one of those times. As I noted, I was able to quickly setup the camera in my Google home app. But later I tried to streem the video to my TV with google Chromecast... "the device is not setup for streeming" What? yeah can't streem to my TV. Then I notice after a few days I no longer see notifications that my camera spotted someone? Let me check... Yeah, it's off... Batter OK? Yep! Let me look online. Many complaints of the same. poor wifi, maybe wifi was interupted is the main guess. OK, well my wifi signal is great where the camera is. Could there be an interuption? Definitly. Who doesnt occasionaly have an internet interuption? What, the camera doesn't try to recover? Every other device in my house does? OK, simple fix. I'll setup a routine to turn the camera on so if it goes off at least I know it will eventual get turned back on, without me having to do it manualy. Nope, even though it's in my Google home app, Google assistant says it's not setup? Wait, what? So I try to set it up under assistant settings. Nope, says maybe try the Nest App? So I try the Nest App. Nope, says setup with Google Home app! So I can't setup a routine. Frustrating and Disapointing!

You have to pay for a monthly service to beable to go back and see your video if something does happen. I have several nest products. The door lock and the cameras are the worst! I have 3 cameras and them all staying online at the same time is just not happening. There is no reason for any of them to go out. They are a nightmare.

We first installed the Thermostat and we love it, second was the Nest Doorbell, we love it and now the Nest cam that we installed in the garage. The pictures are clear, it records and notifies you if there is any movement which is nice as we keep our garage door open.
