I rent so this has allowed me to not have to run wiring through my landlord’s house. I really love the face recognition and the seamless interaction with my home automation!

I only have 2 complains with the Google battery camera:1. This camera should have been 4K. I realize 4K would have been more of battery drainer, but I would happily recharge the battery a little extra to have 4K.2. I recently had to change my Wi-Fi password. Folks, don't change your password unless you absolutely have to. I had to climb a ladder and pull cameras down to manually hit the reset button on the back of the camera. You would think there would be a simple solution for this but apparently Google didn't consider this.

We live in a safe area but like the idea of being able to see what's going on in and around our house when we are not home. This camera was a great choice! You install the base with just two screws (and anchors if installing on drywall) and it took maybe 5 minutes. The camera and base both have very strong magnets to hold the camera in place and make it very easy to take down to charge and to angle the camera so it captures the area you want. Google makes is so easy to set up. You just use the Google Home app and it walks you through the process. It takes no time at all. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this Google Nest cam! It is very easy to set up and operate. I love that you can use it indoors or outdoors and mounting is was easy also. The camera quality is terrific and has night vision and wide angle viewing which is very handy. Overall, I feel that this camera is made well, provides excellent video capabilities and is easy to operate. I highly recommend it!

The camera, itself appears to be OK. The only exception is that the power cable was designed backwards. The major problem is that you cannot use this “Nest” camera with the “Nest” app. You have to use it in the Google Home app where its functionality and capabilities are rendered useless. None of the features available in the Nest app are accessible in the Home app. There is also an insane list of restrictions for setting up automations. So many, that every automation I’ve ever tried to set up gives you an error saying it’s not permitted. Even something as simple as turning the camera off when you’re home. Also, any integration that Google Home has with Smart Home applications hides this camera from them, so you cannot integrate it with anything. This camera is the worst purchase I ever made.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hey folks, I have the google nest doorbell and was really excited about this new outdoor nest cam. For me, it's primary use is watching my back door and my dogs. For that, it is perfect. The image is very clear, it plugs right into all of the google home devices (and now you see it in google home VS in the nest app) and it is very easy to set up, which is its greatest perk. Don't forget to update your google home app if you're unable to find it, that cost me 10 minutes!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very welcome addition to the Google camera range. The Nest cam with battery is supposed to be used outside as well as inside as per the product features. Although is does support outside use, we have installed it on our door so that it’s not totally under the weather and can still serve the purpose. The setup was very easy and we just followed the instructions. Since I already have a decent size Google eco-system so I was quite aware of what all needs to be done to do an error-free installation. Coming to the image quality, as expected it gives a very crisp and good quality image. It has almost all the features like event-based recordings, limited local saving of data etc but one thing which I like to cover is that battery charge. It has 3 modes depending on how you want to capture your events, personally we have used the minimum battery saver option which would give us a 3-4 months of battery life which is pretty good (I am yet to drain out my whole battery). Also one can take the Nest Aware subscription to have longer history of event based recordings. Overall, I have liked the product and I can see the benefits what it provides whether you have a package delivery or someone at the door. Would recommend it for sure !!

This is great for monitoring indoor or outdoor activity. The camera is battery operated and is easy to install. It has great HD picture quality and amazing sound clarity. The night vision is an added advantage. It has a 3 hour free recording capability.
