[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This worked well for what I wanted it for but I would see it falling short for others. I wanted to monitor my dog while I'm at work and don't need storage of video, for that it works flawlessly. I can view at any time and the video is clear. The sound is good and the microphone works well too. I've had other cameras where the mic distorts so that was a plus. I didn't have any trouble with set up, it was very easy except that I downloaded nest and they have switched to Google Home. This is my first nest product so this didn't affect me. I hate subscription models so I would never that feature, but you need it if you want more than 3 hours of backed up video. I don't need this but it would be a deterrent for many.

I have been a long time user of Nest products, going back to before Google purchased them. Their hardware and iOS app have been flawless. I purchased the Nest battery camera as I was excited for this new launch and to place my camera in places where I had no access to power. Unfortunately the new cameras do not work with the Nest app, they only work with the Google Home app. I wouldn't have much of an issue with this if the controls of viewing the live feed and history were similar but they are not great in the Google home app. Also if you pay for Nest Aware you won't get the features you pay for unless the camera is plugged into a power source. To save battery life the event history is only 30 seconds long, most events caught the end of a person walking by and if that person showed their face in the 31st second the camera wouldn't show that history, the events hard stop at 30 seconds.The Nest app is perfect, I hope Google doesn't try to discontinue this over time.

However, I have avoided them in the past due to the very costly subscriptions required to get a decent product experience out of them. Google has increased the functionality of the products without a plan, and lowered the cost of the subscriptions. This is a beautiful little camera that requires no wires for ease of installation. If you want to put up a camera without drilling for wires give this camera a look.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This nest camera has a great quality picture, but the microphone picks up a lot of interference. The setup of the camera only took about 5 minutes, and was fairly easy. We set it up in our game room because I have a lot of valuable memorabilia there. The video quality is amazing, and it is able to capture the whole room, but the microphone was making a lot of weird noises that weren't actually on the tv, I'll have to see if I can tweak that at all. The app is very easy to use and navigate. Great quality camera. It would be nice if it was waterproof though, so I could get a couple for outside.

Being battery operated saves a lot of installation headaches, like drilling through outside walls. You just hook it up to the wifi and either use it with the app on your phone or have it plug into your Nest Hub. Great security device with a nice wide angle lens.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Google's smart home integration has been my platform of choice, so the quick and seamless integration of this camera has been a breeze. We needed a wireless option because we wanted a camera where it was going to be difficult to hide the wiring. A couple minutes of work and this was easily attached where we needed it and ready to go. Video quality is great both in well lit situations and when the IR kicks on at night. The audio it records is clean and clear which makes it easy to communicate using the microphone. Unlike some of the other cameras I have tried, 2-way talking is no problem at all. Event notifications and zone monitoring work great and connecting to the camera is super quick through the Google Home app. Overall this is the best experience I have had with a home camera and plan to add it to my arsenal of other Google devices.

We have been using it in the living room where our dogs stay if we go somewhere. We can check in on them and can see the front door. My wife loves having this. I am thinking about getting a few more for outside of the house. I have had no issues with using this. No glitches or anything. Perfect and the easiest to use camera.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed this on my front porch and love it! I have a doorbell camera but this Nest Cam shows me a much clearer and larger area. I can see when packages are delivers and monitor them while we aren't home. When we are out of town it's just nice to see whats going on. The battery life is good and can't really complain. I'm going to install more soon!

The setup was SUPER easy and integrated with my existing google products pretty easily. The cam quality is great and the installation took literally one minute. The battery life so far is good which means less charging. I would consider replacing my other brand cams with all nest cams.
