The sure start is true to it's word and as expected the tape has good sticking and staying power. You can always count on Scotch! Love the sure start, love that it's on it's own cutter/roller as well. Overall 10/10. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using 3M-Scotch shipping tape for years. It's great quality, crystal clear, and easy to use. How could it be improved? Surprisingly, it was! The Sure Start lives up to it's name Each time I've used it, I haven't had to fumble with getting it started - something I was just accustomed to. The coolest part though is the quick, smooth pull. My first time using it I pulled as normal, and got a lot of tape. Wow... it releases wonderfully smoothly and quietly. I've mailed several packages with it now & it really makes packaging items simple. Thanks 3M!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Reusing a mailable box was an opportune time to use my new *Scotch packaging tape”. The new roll was easy to use with the enclosed dispenser, which is made from recycled content. First I removed the bright yellow caution piece, then, Located the start of tape, which even with long nails, was easy to start. I threaded the tape, boxed, closed and easily & quietly taped the packaged. After I finish taping I always fold the start back on itself for easy start next time. This is a great packaging tape-no splintering or splitting while using. It is easy for me to recommend this Scotch Sure Start Packaging tape. I love Scotch Brand products (3M). I rated this product a 4.5 because I prefer the Scotch Box Lock Shipping tape. It is a thicker and stronger tape, which I use I on moving boxes. However this Scotch packaging tape is perfect for lighter packages. * I received this free sample from 3M to evaluate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used several tape dispensers and this is by far the smoothest one I’ve ever used. The tape pulls out very smoothly. It doesn’t stick to itself as you are reeling it out. It also adheres to surfaces very well. There is a little tab to put the cut end on so that it doesn’t go back onto the roll where it’s impossible to get it started again. I highly recommend this tape and dispenser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free as part of a product testing and review program. This tape is easy to peel off from the roll once you find an edge and is palpably thick and robust. Seems like it would have good tensile strength. I had no trouble peeling it off the roll, which was a totally unprecedented experience. It was remarkable how I only had to try to find the edge once, and once I did the tape would simply come off. With other tape, I look for the edge with a fingernail, then use my fingernail to get under it. This usually tears and offers a sliver of usable tape, so the "fingernail digging" process must be repeated several times until the sliver is big enough to get the full width of tape elevated. Once you elevate Sure Start tape, it has a reduced tendency to fall back down and even when it does, it tends not to lay perfectly flat so it is easy to find the edge again. Adhesion to a standard corrugated cardboard box was strong but not extraordinary. Some tape, like Scotch Heavy Duty, seems to stick and lay flat on just about any surface. I felt confident with the hold and the workability of the Sure Start tape, but it was not a "knock my socks off" kind of hold. Still way better than the budget, extra-thin tape that I have used in the past where the ends would start to peel off from the package spontaneously. For shipping something heavy, I would still be included to overlap the tape and complete a full revolution around the box so that you have tape-on-tape contact keeping your box closed rather than just tape-on-box contact. As one might imagine, some compromise between adhesion to a box and cohesion between the layers of a roll has to be stricken. This tape does a good job of that. The cohesion is easy to overcome beyond compare, which is really this tape's biggest selling point. As far as adhesion to packaging, this tape does OK.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the product free from 3M. This tape works just as they said it would :) It has a tab on it so you know exactly where it starts. It's also quiet when you're pulling long strips from it and you can tell that its strong.

This tape is easy to use as far as getting it off the spool but it DOESN'T stick to the box. I used this product and by the time I got to Fedex for shipping they made me re wrap and repackage because the tape would not stay attached to the package. I took the brand new roll and threw it away. Duct products work much better.

I work remotely and have to ship several boxes back to a main office every week. This is the only tape I have ever used that doesn't stick to itself and to the wrong places on the box as I am applying it. It feels a tad thicker than regular tape and unrolls quietly. I hope never to buy another kind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As usual, any 3M tape product is great. I use this all the time for any sort of packaging needs. The Scotch tape is the de facto choice no matter price or specials. The tape is easy enough to re-open if it messes up and re-sticks to itself.
