Solid and secure safe that will fit lots of documents in file folders and hanging folders. I would have liked if there were handles on the sides to make it easier to lift up. I added some felt strips to the bottom after reading some reviews that it scratched floors. Hopefully I will never have to test it's usefulness in a fire.

This box is perfect for protecting some cash and important documents from fire. I haven't tested it, but am more confident now that my documents are in this box rather than a file drawer. Of course, this box is not theft proof as it can be carried out the door.

The safe arrived and all seemed well except for a powdery substance all over the inside of the box and outside of the safe. When we inserted the key and opened the lid it fell off the safe! Turns out the powder was what was left of the tabs that held the lid to the top of the safe. We returned the safe for a full refund.

I have 6 other sentry safes (4 big for the grandchildren, and 2 small for our important documents) but one day recently, during a tornado warning, I moved one of the bigger safes into the bathroom and put in a few items I most wanted to protect. A few hours later, I put it back in my office but, few days later, during another weather warning, I had to do it again. It occurred to me we needed one more safe, exclusively to protect certain items during Nasty-Weather season; one that could "live" in the bathroom. So I ordered a 7th Sentry Safe, and there in the bathroom it stays, already holding a few legal documents, a couple of water bottles, some charging cords, a good flashlight, etc., and the safe is nicely covered with a small lace throw and a jar of decorative soaps. Visitors haven't a clue.

The safe arrive locked and without any keys. Totally useless as is (unless you want to use it as a brick). Clearly minimal quality control at the manufacturer. I will be returning it for a refund as I don't want to invest more time on product from this company.

I thought Sentry was a good brand? Both keys did not work and the latch was plastic. When I returned it they had a second safe in the store I was ready to take that one, but it was also defective. I saw the same safe at Home Depot the box was torn and taped shut, looked returned to me. Very Disappointed.

It's great, fits my needs, and heavy duty. But the lock is wonky and it doesn't unlock or lock on the first try. It always takes a couple tries and some rattling before I can unlock or lock it again. Sometimes I have to wiggle the lid and the key while it's in the lock before it works. My other sentry safe wasn't like this.

the lock and key didn't work. extremely heavy, it's actually a small safe, that should be put in the description since "file" makes you think you can carry it. you can't. on the bright side, Walmart was quick to credit the return, including shipping, since the product was defective.

I was excited to have finally made a decision on a safe for our family. This one would have been perfect but when I received it it was really dirty like it had already been in a fire. To top that off the key didn't work. There was no way it would keep my stuff safe.
