This arrived in a plain brown box. When I opened the safe there was a white ash all in and around the lock mechanism both top and bottom and more in the bottom of the case. The keys worked when I opened it originally but then would not work to lock it again. I returned this the next day. Wondered if it was a used model that someone had tried to test the fireproof level on.

I bought this safe for personal home use. It has been used very little in the 2.5 years since I bought it. Today, the lid fell off as the hinges on both sides broke off. I would expect much higher quality from a company like Sentry. I certainly expected the product to last longer than 2.5 years. I won't buy from this company again!

The item was received as promised, and in good condition. Two concerns, both trivial. First, the key cannot be removed unless the box is locked. I understand that will keep one from locking the keys in the box, but as I use it, it is an inconvenience. Second, while hanging file folders will fit into it, there is no tolerance for any item longer than the file folder. I like to use manila envelopes dropped into the folders, but there is no size large enough to accomodate a standard size paper yet small enough to fit in the folder. As a result, the hanging folders stand in a skewed position. Again, this is more an inconvenience than a problem. Overall, I am very pleased with the box, and it is doing what I need it to do. I am using it only to protect documents in a fire / disaster situation, so am not concerned about lift handles, etc.

this product is wonderful, I have had no problems with it or operating it. I went and bought metal file hangers because I didn't know that inside the safe was grooves for the side tabs to sit in, so I didn't need to buy the extra metal file frames. Overall product pleased me

I appreciated the free shipping and it arrived within a few days. However, it was not in a Sentry box (just the plain shipping box with styrofoam). Although the keys and lock had the same code the key would not work. I called Sentry and they said I should return it to Walmart. Sentry also said their products should never arrive in a plain box. They suspect this product was a return.

This is a good quality safe for what I need it for, with sturdy construction. I knocked off two stars because the safe came in no official packaging, had white power all over and inside of it, and the latch was bent. I was able to bend it back into place, but this one seems like it was sold and returned, then resold to me. Or maybe this is how it was sent to Walmart. Either way, I'll just clean it off and continue to use it, since it doesn't seem to be damaged or defective in any way.

It has no handles, but slides easily. After filling papers it, I could not lift it so it will have to find "its home" and stay there. It does not come with hanging file folders but the ones I put in fit perfectly. Simple box that I hope I will never have to test its fireproof capability!

My husband and I recently purchased this in which to store our archives of tax returns. As we have not suffered from any floods or fires, we haven't been able to put this to the true test, but it's certainly roomy enough to store the last few years of returns, so it's pretty much serving its purpose.

I bought this as a gift for my daughter and son in law, however, I have the exact same one. Perfect for keeping all your important papers safe and in one place. I use hanging files to keep everything organized, and you can easily place other items in as well.

I use this safe to store dvd back up of family movies and the like. My concern is not flood or fire, but the anticipate solar flares of an active sun. Supposedly we are entering a very active period, and i am will to spend a few dollars to protect a lot of time invested in those dvd, and extra back up hard drives.
