Whenever I’m whipping up a stir-fry or just trying to bring some life to simple veggies, it’s my go-to. The umami flavor it packs is unbeatable, instantly turning basic dishes into something that tastes much more complex. I also love using it in marinades and sauces—it never lets me down. The only thing I’m mindful of is the saltiness, so I usually use just a small amount. But honestly, I can’t imagine cooking without it!

I used this when cooking chicken stir fry and I can confidently say I didn’t have to add anymore seasoning than this oyster sauce. It absolutely made the dish. The packaging is high quality and came with a recipe to use this sauce with that I thought was a nice touch. The sauce itself was not too overpowering and added just the right amount of umami to any dish I cooked with it.

Use sparingly in marinades, stews, stir-fries, & gravies - it brings out the umami. For marinades a tablespoon will serve 150g of meat - just let is soak for 15 mins or more. Use it in most stir fry e.g. broccoli beef, chicken chow mein & special fried rice, but don't overdo it as a little goes a long way. In even non-Asian recipes, it will add an extra twist to any stock, gravy, or BBQ marinade.

The neck is well sealed. I was glad that the sauce was made in the USA. Not a bad line-up. The sauce is thick and viscous, dark brown in color. The sauce is very salty with a sweet tinge, but besides that, the taste of the sauce is quite versatile. The only thing I didn't really like was that I got the feeling that there were notes of soda in the aftertaste. I have not tried such sauces before, so, unfortunately, I cannot judge how correct it is. But I tried the concentrated version (straight from the bottle). I used it for kung pao chicken and my husband used it for chicken pad see ew. Both were very delicious! I love that it is not overly salty. You also do not need too much.. little goes a long way. Two things to note - refrigerate after opening to preserve freshness and it does have a fishy smell out of the bottle but don't worry, it gets toned down when mixed with other ingredients.

It has a smooth taste packed full of umami and isn’t overly salty. I love the packaging, the label is pleasing retro and the bottle neck is the right size for the consistency of the product. If you love to cook Asian food at home you need this premium quality sauce in your pantry. I use it in Thai and Vietnamese dishes as well as Chinese.
