[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very easy to assemble unit and pretty light weight machine. There were no tools required to put it together and took less than 10 minutes. Out first test was on an old stain in the carpet where one of the kids spilled a drink. We used the included sample of carpet cleaner which has a pleasant scent. Setting up the unit was very easy as the reservoir is on top and releases easily. After filling and adding the solution, resting the reservoir we started cleaning. While running there is a trigger on the handle you press and release for the water. Releasing stops the water. Compared to a rug doctor we own, this was able to remove the stains the rug doctor wouldn't. The added heat feature is a great help. The tank cleanup was very easy and convenient. This does include upholstery attachments and are easily connected.Overall, this will be our go to cleaner going forward.

It works wonders and made my carpet and couches looking brand new. I highly recommend this especially if you have pets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This carpet cleaner is amazing, I have 2 other carpet cleaners in my house, one Hoover as well and one Bissell and I have to say, this one takes the cake!! It's light weight, the tank easily removes and clicks back into place. You can actually remove the tank one handed. The water capacity certainly seems larger than the other models too. I really like that the water/cleaning solution reservoir holder is one single thing versus the other models where it's separate. I tested this carpet cleaner out on my living room rug, we have 2 cats, 10 children and we foster kittens as well so the living room is a high traffic area. I just did my carpets a couple of weeks ago and then received this amazing machine and had to test it right away. I took pictures leaving a row between the areas to show the difference which there is a huge difference. I'm amazed with how well this carpet cleaner works. My adult children want one now so I'm thinking about buying them one each for their homes. I am excited to tell my friend about this too as most of my friends are pet friendly families and have children. Hands down, this is the best carpet cleaner I've ever used personally.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I knew my carpets were dirty but come on, how dirty can they be? I have 2 large dogs, I used to have three. All of them are long haired and shed like crazy. There are several people in the house always walking around in shoes and socks so the carpets do get dirty but I never thought they were disgustingly dirty. Well... this XL Hoover Carpet Cleaner showed me just how dirty they were and how much they really needed this machine. The dirty water bin was almost like sludge on the most used carpeted area in the house. The rest of the bins were literally brown or even black. One swipe back and forth is OK at picking up all the dirt, but 2 full back and forth swipes is phenomenal. After going over the carpet 2 times and sucking up all the dirty water 2 times I make sure to go over with clean water one time and then suck that up as well. After all, who wants extra soap and possible dirty water stuck in their carpets? Keep in mind that if you want to go over your clean carpets with clean water at the end, make sure to only put enough soapy water in the tank as to not waste any. Meaning, you will have to dump out the soapy water to put in fresh clean water so make sure not to overdo it and totally fill the tank with soapy water if it is not needed and the room is not that large. This machine works great for the entire carpet in my large living room because of the large tanks. I have another carpet cleaner but it's compact and more for pet oopsies and not for doing entire rooms. I do/did use the compact one to clean small rooms and hallways, but I had to change out the bins a couple times. With this Hoover I do not have to do that! Compared to my compact machine this one obviously takes the cake. It also has more powerful suction. I actually think this is just as good as rented machines and easier to use. No more renting machines, either, with this Hoover XL!! Oh and the attachment is great, I can actually clean my drapes with it although I have not tried to do this yet. I am waiting to use the attachment on a chair that I just cleaned (go figure) and when it is dirty again I will use it. The only thing I wish this Hoover had is its own mat to sit/store on, like my compact one has. It is like a mat/bin that you put the cleaner on in case of any leaks and it makes things look neat and tidy. I will have to buy one on the internet if they have one of look for something that I can use in the same fashion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] THE HOOVER POWER SCRUB XL ARRIVED QUICKER THAN I EXPECTED AND I WAS EXCITED TO GIVE IT A TRY! LET ME START BY SAYING IT WAS FAIRLY EASY TO PUT TOGETHER AND IT MIXED THE SOAP AND WATER BY ITSELF! IT WASNT AS HEAVY AS I HAD EXPECTED SO THAT WAS A MAJOR PLUS FOR MY BACK. THE HEATED AIR DRIED THE CARPET QUICKER THAN ANY OTHER MACHINE I HAVE USED - IM VERY IMPRESSED BY THIS CLEANER!!

I have been using a different brand of carpet cleaner for many years and was quite satisfied with it. However, my perspective changed after I purchased this Hoover carpet cleaner. I have beige carpet that is over 25 years old, and this machine worked wonders on it. We have a household with both cats and dogs, so messes are unavoidable. Despite this, the machine effortlessly cleaned up even the most stubborn stains, including set-in urine stains. I appreciate the separate containers for dirty and clean water, as well as the fact that there is no need to mix the cleaning solution. Additionally, removing the brush heads for cleaning is incredibly simple. Honestly, I cannot imagine a better carpet cleaner. I ended up cleaning the entire living room because the results were so impressive, which is not a bad thing at all. My carpets now look better than when I first purchased my house a few years ago. I am genuinely amazed by this product and will continue to choose this brand in the future.

I could not have asked them to make it any better then what it is it's easy to use and does the job really well see I have dogs and they love to make my carpets a mess with whatever they can and it's tough getting stains out with just the ordinary cleaners they don't seem to work to well but when I got this bad boy I was in heaven I went to town on my carpets lol And they came out like if they were brand new and smelled great too I absolutely say if you have carpets and kids and or pets you should definitely have one of these!!! I'm in love...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a few carpet cleaners at home each for a different purpose. I have the big green clean machine for large areas, an automatic spot cleaner for small things, and the Hoover Power Scrub for everything in the middle. I really like the brushes on the Hoover Power Scrub. I have always thought the scrubbing style brushes did a much better job than the beater bar style that you see on a vacuum. The dry time seems to be on par with the Big green machine if not slightly better. The dry time is much much better than my spot cleaner. I will say that set in stains will still need to be pre treated and gone over a few times if you want to be successful with this carpet cleaner. The Upholstery Tool is no different from any other. I feel as if this is the area that cleaners could stand out but seem to just go with the industry norm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so I have a higher/thicker carpet in my place. And it's beige. There was a spot where one of the dogs had peed a few months ago that even though it had been cleaned before still showed up faintly in the right light. I used this on it and the rest of the floor and it's gone with no smell from the previous cleaner! I did 2 passes, and could smell the residual cleaner I had used previously, but a third pass took it away. Since my carpet is lighter I didn't see an insane difference in cor, but the tank proves otherwise! And for the type of carpet in that area I was pleasantly surprised that it only left it feeling damp and not soaking wet! I also decided to do the stairs as well to really test it out. It worked just as well, but left the stairs feeling wet, but again that's what I expected with the thick carpet. The hose attachment was super easy to use and attach/detach. It was also a smooth glide pushing and pulling it and it didn't seem overly heavy. The only literal downside was the wetness of my staircase, but again thick long carpet, but giving it a little bit of pressure made it work enough to deal with.

I decided to practice with the machine on the dogs chair and to my surprise It's now as bright as new and smells wonderful. Honestly, it was a bit of work but the reward is so nice that it was a bit like therapy. I kind of look forward to shampooing it again just to see if I can make it brighter yet.
