I’m not pleased with this safe ! The package was very poor. Nothing but cardboard and it was all ripped up. The safes were scratched and white dust inside and in the keypad. The doors don’t want to close to lock them ! I really should’ve returned my safes as soon as I saw the packaging! Very disappointed!!!

So I took delivery of this safe a couple three days ago. I read a lot of reviews previous to my purchase to ensure it was what I wanted. Everyone is correct, it does have a very unique odor about it, I am hoping the Damp Rid will take it away. The safe has four holes drilled in the case but only comes with two rubber washers and mounting bolts? The two upper holes revealed the material in between and you could not see directly through them. The two floor holes I could not see anything obstructing the passage other than the carpet inside. So if you are going to purchase this safe, get some snug fitting rubber and steel washers along with some anchor bolts for the top holes in order to mount it with all four holes, or spend ten bucks and order their kit. Either way once you have this sucker bolted down it is not going anywhere. "CAUTION" be careful when operating the key and taking off the faceplate, there are little plastic supports on the face that are very fragile. I broke one off but it does not seem to interfere with the faceplate. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this safe to anyone who is planning on upgrading or buying for the first time. This is my 4th sentry safe and I have not been disappointed yet.

Burglary was not my prime concern for buying this safe. We live in a secure building and theft would be very hard. However, 2 months ago someone left a candle burning in their apartment and it started a fire. There isn't a lot to burn. Can you say concrete, steel and firewalls. So the fire was a nonissue. However, the sprinkler system soaked 6 units on each floor from #23 to #18. Everything ruined. I was alarmed. I am the keeper of our family history. Most of which I have converted to DVD and CD formats. Furniture, electronics, etc. can be replaced; the family history can't. So I wanted a safe that would protect from fire long enough for the sprinklers to do their job, and keep it all dry. NOW THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS..... WHEN READING THE DIRECTIONS I FOUND OUT THE SAFE WOULD NOT BE WATERPROOF UNLESS IT WAS BOLTED TO THE FLOOR. THIS WAS NOT IN THE LITERATURE, BUT I DID FIND A WORKAROUND. SO I AM HAPPY, BUT I WISH I HAD KNOWN SOONER. MIGHT HAVE MADE ANOTHER CHOICE. By the way, quick delivery, easy to put into place, good size for our stuff, good build quality, and the price was right.

This was the only safe in its size class which was water resistant in addition to being fireproof. Reasonably priced, and unlike other manufacturers, offered free delivery to the door...others would only deliver to the curb, which for a safe this size, would require more umph than this aging retiree possesses to push up a sloped driveway to the house. The safe arrived in perfect condition, and opened right up once batteries (not included) were installed. The electronic lock was easy to program, and instructions and information (in a bag on the outside of the safe) were clear and easy to follow. Internal shelves are padded and adjustable. This is a qualified gun safe, which, at least here in Washington State, means it is exempt from sales tax. For me a 10 percent bonus! Hardware is included to bolt the safe to the floor for additional security, but at a few hundred pounds once loaded, is not something that could be carted away easily! Sadly, the safe comes with two bolt holes predrilled and unplugged in the bottom, which for those who rent or have hard concrete floors which can't be drilled, makes the safe less water resistant. I suppose placing it on a rubber sheet might work. In my case I bought a tube of silicon sealant, filled the holes and let it cure. It would be nice if this model came with rubber plugs or just made the holes as knockouts, but this is the only issue I had with the safe. I have two smaller Sentry safes which have served me well for many years. This will likely be the last one I'll need to buy, and so far, I love it!

It's hard for me to say what I think yet I just got it out of the box 2 days ago, did get the batteries in and opened the door once and haven't touched it sense. So to some it up Batteries went in door open, its got a door its got a lock so far so good.

After my first safe arrived severely damaged ( dent in top which cracked the seam) I insisted on a different carrier. Fed ex delivered the replacement. Set up and operation is easy. I suggest better packaging for shipment. Also 3?shelves are flimsy. Beef them up! Otherwise it meets my needs!

Box was completely thrashed by the shipping company. I inspected it before signing and the safe looked ok—minor scratches and small dent. Sentry quality control isn’t good, I could tell that right off the bat. Interior shelf brackets are screwed in crooked and not tight. Interior lining isn’t glued in well—loose on all seams. Interior shelves are really cheap made. I bought this for the ETL 30 minute fire rating so hopefully it holds up if I ever have a fire. At 220 lbs the entire safe could easily be stolen by one person and isn’t as beefy as I thought it would be—definitely have to bolt it down. I’ve read other reviews that the locking mechanism and handle aren’t dependable so I will see after a few months of use if it breaks.

Nice & heavy BUT not waterproof unless bolted down - should have been designed better to allow free standing safe to be waterproof. Factory safe code NOT affixed to instruction book - trying to figure out if customer service will be able to help. Should have incorporated LED lighting system inside.

Horrible Craftsmanship! The inside felt lining is a mess, a lot of loose pieces! None of the 12 screws holding shelf brackets were tight and all are at an angle, they will not go in straight or tighten. Where is quality control? Very over priced for workmanship and quality of this safe!

THE BAD: originally scheduled a delivery date, but was cancelled. never told me about the next scheduled delivery date....they just showed up. fortunately, i was at the house. poor communication. also, the 'seal' on the right side of the inside of the door is a bit torn off. don't know if that will affect performance. THE GOOD: seems strong & sturdy. love the key to open the safe incase the keypad/batteries fail. seems to be worth the money.
