THE BAD: originally scheduled a delivery date, but was cancelled. never told me about the next scheduled delivery date....they just showed up. fortunately, i was at the house. poor communication. also, the 'seal' on the right side of the inside of the door is a bit torn off. don't know if that will affect performance. THE GOOD: seems strong & sturdy. love the key to open the safe incase the keypad/batteries fail. seems to be worth the money.

although the safe is functional, we have had to wait 2 weeks to use it because of the offensive odor inside which the company says is due to the fabric glue used in manufacture. Also it had a chip in the paint finish and upon opening the front to insert the batteries there were 3 broken plastic pieces inside obviosly due to rough handling during manufacture. If it were not for the immense inconvenience, I would either demand a refund or replacement.

Overall well built but one improvement would give it five stars. I bolted it directly to a flat concrete floor but it wobbled. I thought the floor may have had a high spot but did not. Looking down into the bolt hole cavities after re- bolting, the problem was revealed. The bolts were tight. It was the bottom of the save flexing that was causing the wobbling. The bottom of the safe either needs to be made of a thicker gauge of steel or beefed up to prevent wobbling.

So far the safe appears to be just what I wanted. I am enjoying using it. It is very sturdy and well built. The shelves were easily adjustable. It opens easily. However the safe arrived in a make shift box and the safe have several deep scratches. It had a lot of white substance/gritty powder. The back of the shelves have multiple permanent black fingerprints and the felt lining is not completely glued to all services. I’m still struggling with the cheaply made keypad. I hope I don’t have issues with it later. Overall, the safe size is just what I wanted and I would recommend it.

This is a big piece, my concerns is that it had to be bolted down in order to be waterproof. I did bolt down and feel that the bolts were not long enough, one bolt got down good the other would not tighten like the first. Inside the frame of door has partial weather stripping foam. Think it should all around have the foam strip not just part of it. Be prepared to buy something extra for dampness. I got a nice one online, just heat and re-use..I do hope I never have to deal with a fire like I have had in the past. That sentry safe held up to the fire just not the door,, because someone tried to force it open without any luck. I believe that it was the right price for my money. So if you want a good safe sentry is the way to go.

I have experienced several problems with this safe. The first delivery had to be returned because front of safe was badly scratched. The replacement has the felt lining on the shelves and interior is hanging off the edges instead of glued to surfaces. There had been wet, and glue spots on the back of the shelves that needed cleaning. The door needed to be left open to dry out the safe. Now the door will not close properly and it can't be locked.

Hi good morning, this is kishor here , I have problem with lock handle. It's not working well , once try to open very hard to open, once close handle can come till 60 degree not 90 degree, I changed battaries , still same . Please ask your team to check for me. Thank you.

I was a bit skeptical about ordering a document safe in the first place. It was delivered and set in my garage for me to move to it's permanent location. Programming my personal entry code was easy, and in the end I will no longer need to pay the annual fee for a safe deposit box at my local bank. The only change I would like to make is to have a sixth locking bolt located on the bottom of the door.

This is my third purchase of a SentrySafe product. My primary reason for continuing with SentrySafe is the excellent support and assistance I received when problems with the internal mechanism of my prior one. I am still using it in addition to the current one purchased.

Good size for my needs. Others have complained door was loose when closed by 1/4". This safe has a tight fit that does not let locking handle go all the way to down position. Must put some pressure on door to fully lock hopeful with time the door will close easier. Main complaint as others have indicated is the carpeting has a bad smell. I had to leave in garage for six days with a fan blowing into safe to get the odor down to where it is tolerable. This odor is similar to new carpets, mattresses, etc.
