I have been buying Cheddar Lil Smokies for years and this most recent batch doesn't even seem like real meat! They're so oily they slide off the plate. The texture is almost like Vienna Sausages (which is nasty) What changed? If this is the new normal I won't ever buy these again.

It is a bit time consuming but I cut the sausages at the bottom into four slices or I guess two cuts half way up. Then I threw them in the air fryer which makes the slices open up and they look like little octopuses. Did that for my son's birthday party they were gone in minutes!

I recently had a case of the sweet meat treats delivered to our compound for a party. Let me tell you,..I am SOOO glad they changed,..no make that FIXED the recipe. Now this is how casing should be filled. My crops are in abundance...I cannot remember what life was like before these sausages. Happy. Joy. Life. Party. I need. More.

As others have mentioned, these are more like Vienna sausages or hot dogs. No longer have the texture of meat sausages and there is no longer a bite to the casing. Extremely soft in texture and tasteless. This used to be my all time favorite and now I will no longer buy.

I've been wondering for quite some time why little smokies don't taste as good as in the past. It's because the few times I've found them in supermarkets they are now made with beef. I suppose people don't think anyone will notice the difference and some people now won't eat anything with pork. Sure would be nice to be able to buy what I want instead of what other people will accept.

These are consistently high quality and taste the same every time. They’re cheap and kids love them. No, they’re not the healthiest things in the world, but neither is most food you eat. Lit’l Smokies are awesome and the world would be a sadder place without them.

Very disappointed. You should label these "new recipe" so when you come to your senses and bring back the old recipe you can then label them as "original recipe is back" so people like me will consider buying them again. These no longer have a course ground firm meat texture and there is no "smokie" taste either. They now have a texture more like pureed salty bologna stuffed into a super soft gel like little tube. I won't be buying these again. I have eaten this brand for more than 50 years and am sad that you ruined a great product.

The last two packages of Smokies I have purchased in the past month (Cheddar and then Regular) have both had an extremely slimy coating on the outside after cooking that took about 15 minutes of thorough washing after cooking before it came off.... The ends of the pre-cooked smokies also looked slightly burnt and this is not something that I normally noticed when purchasing these in the past. I don't feel comfortable serving these to my kids any longer.

These used to be delicious (and the cheese flavor) but whatever you did to them is honestly disgusting. The casings are putrid and slimy and they don't taste anything like they used to, they're full of bone fragments and have the texture of a cheap hot dog. Way to ruin a good product for "more profits" I'm sure. Gross.
