We used to eat these all the time - for breakfast, in appetizers, always! The flavor/taste has totally changed and they seem to be full of "filler".... to the point that it had to be spit out. I was horrified - I can no longer serve this product to my guests!

These are consistently high quality and taste the same every time. They’re cheap and kids love them. No, they’re not the healthiest things in the world, but neither is most food you eat. Lit’l Smokies are awesome and the world would be a sadder place without them.

Very disappointed. You should label these "new recipe" so when you come to your senses and bring back the old recipe you can then label them as "original recipe is back" so people like me will consider buying them again. These no longer have a course ground firm meat texture and there is no "smokie" taste either. They now have a texture more like pureed salty bologna stuffed into a super soft gel like little tube. I won't be buying these again. I have eaten this brand for more than 50 years and am sad that you ruined a great product.

These used to be delicious (and the cheese flavor) but whatever you did to them is honestly disgusting. The casings are putrid and slimy and they don't taste anything like they used to, they're full of bone fragments and have the texture of a cheap hot dog. Way to ruin a good product for "more profits" I'm sure. Gross.

I’ve not made the lil’ smokies for years and made a double batch for Thanksgiving vs using kielbasa. I tried one and to my dismay they have the texture of a hotdog, soft, mushy texture, nothing like the originals my family had loved. The taste, texture & overall shape are absolutely NOTHING like they used to be or how 5 of the thanksgiving family members on Thursday remember them once eating fondly. I came online & googled tonight to see if by some weird fluke there was another big name brand who sells these? Maybe we got a bad batch (2 separate packs?) Maybe we made a wrong purchased/brand mistake? NOPE upon scrolling through all the other feedback/posts it confirmed that we too had the overall similar taste & texture “disappointment” /experience. What happened Hillshitre? You had such a great product before! I’m leaving this review so other consumers know that they are not crazy for wondering the same things all of us did on thanksgiving sitting around after eating a couple of them each, than talking about “just how much of a bummer” the product had tasted/changed. & also forced to give 1 star in order to leave this review, instead of zero.

What happened to your cocktail links? I used to love these. Haven't bought in a while and decided I wanted meatballs and and cocktail links. Thinking I would enjoy the links over the meatballs like in the past sadly disappointed. The were bland and mushy they use to have more of a snap and ham like texture with flavor. Just like in the past would always get your bone fragment once in awhile not worth it with the new taste. It will probably be a long time before I purchase again until I see a package that says old recipe.

Have been an Eckrich customer forever, but was looking to try another brand. The overwhelming negative "hot dog" taste should have definitely steered me away. I was disappointed for sure. Seems someone in management at Hillshire Farm didn't remember what happened when the New Coke formula came out. Disaster. So easy to just stick with what has worked for so many years, so why don't people learn?

Terrible. NOT the same for sure, very weak flavor. Very disappointed, the other bad reviews tell the truth that it's best to never buy again till the old recipe OR the old seasoning amounts are used again. Ruined a Birthday brunch recipe, wish I'd read these reviews first before wasting money and seeing disappointed faces at breakfast.

I too am glad it is not just me who thought these had a very different taste. Served them for my holiday party, FOUR packages in jelly and BBQ sauce like always, I was embarrassed to serve them the flavor was so bland. Hadn't had them for a couple of years and can't believe how much I had left over, these are usually gone in a flash. Please don't insult our intelligence and say you haven't changed the recipe. Awful! Will not be buying again!
