We were so excited to see Sams carry Hungry Jack instant potato’s. The difference right away is instead of potato flakes the are granules. The flavor is not the same as the flakes we have bought at our local grocery for years. They seem dry too.

What ever happen to the Flake version of the Real Potatoes. I use to get them, bought these thinking they were the Same. NOT, these are little tiny grit balls. The color is Yucky as well as the Taste Nasty. Bought several boxes, and no one likes them. The actual dried flakes were the best. So If they stopped making the Flakes, I will go back to pealing my Potatoes. I understand Companies have to cut cost somewhere. Really , STOP ADDING BIOENGINEERED CRAP IN OUR FOOD PRODUCTS. Maybe companies will save on cost, save a devoted customer and save a life. THERE Other countries dont allow this, Why the US .

These are the best instant potatoes around. Where I live, we cannot get them anymore. These are great when you are in a time crunch or just exhausted from the day and cannot make boiled potatoes. I have tried all other instant potatoes and have thrown the box in the garbage after one use.

I was happy to see this available since no local stores have stock of the Hungry Jack flakes we use. Even Idahoan seem to be scarce. Open the package and ... What is this? Not flakes but granules. Then look at ingredients... The product I'm used to just had simple potato flakes and preservatives. This has salt, oil, milk solids, artificial color, flavor, etc. I prefer to add my own extras, thank you! I see the Idahoan at Sam's has similar ingredients so I guess I'm back to searching markets for the simple stuff!

Purchased these since my local club was out of the Idahoan brand. Also figured these would be similar. Made my first batch and was very surprised and disappointed. Nothing like the other brand. Poor taste and even the texture is off. Smell is not great either. Sam's Club please take note - these are NOT a substitute for the Idahoan brand you normally stock. Will not purchase again.

Tried these because our Sams club hasn't stocked the Idohoan brand in awhile. Won't make that mistake again. I suppose reading the long ingredients list would have given me a clue. The family wont' even eat them. Won't be buying mashed potatoes at our club until the Idahoan brand is back.

I have been buying these for 12years. I have found these always consistent in quality. I am disappointed they are now flakes instead of the lil beads now. For whatever reason these are a much better product and taste than the boxes in the stores with the same name I don't know if the red potatoes in these make the difference. These are my go to when I don't have the time to peel real potatoes. Great for a family dinner when you need a lot of potatoes. Easy and fast if you need to make more if you run out during your dinner. Good chance you will.These also work great as a cream soup thickener or to thicken up your shredded chicken for sandwiches over crackers if you don't want all the extra sodium or salty taste. I have made these with both milk or water recipe. Both recipes are delicious. Of course the milk recipe is a little creamier. Some extra butter in the water recipe fixes it right up. I would highly suggest these to friends and family as someone suggested to me. A carton of these can go a good distance with a family of four depending on your mashed potato eaters. Lol

These are not flakes like they used to be. Looks like some sort of mash. Gross and have a hideous flavor and color. They are nasty! Throwing away.
