While cleaning my icemaker, I could not find out why I kept getting rust and almost dirt like stuff running out. I opened it up and something is rusting in it. It is supposed to be Stainless steel, but this motor thing isnt. Also, the plastic is cracked around the motor key and was only held on by the ring. I cant even clean this rust off, it just keeps flaking. What good is it now to put back together, just to eat rust ice? There is no good frigidaire help, its not registerable and its been only 9 months! I took it back to Sams and they said "TOUGH, CALL THE MANUFACTURER, YOUR 90 DAYS IS UP". WOW. Ok, but how? If you bought one you should look up in the right and see if yours is a rust bucket too. Maybe it was an accidental part? I wish I could get help, but Frigidaire has no contactable/manufacturers warranty type ability. All I can do is leave a review. Other than this, the ice is good. I think I have a bad part.

This is review is for the model # EFIC123-SS I believe i bought this before Christmas 2019 so its been a year but it could be 2 years, you know how these things go. Anyway we had been hearing this hellacious grinding coming from the ice maker on a rare occasion and it eventually quit. Lights would come on but it would do nothing. Did a little digging on the interwebs and got a hint it was the motor. Took the thing apart (8 screws total) and see picture for the nasty bits..... The water that sprays in is directly beside the assembly arm that is turned by the motor. As a result this water splashed into the motor arm, rusted out the motor arm, and seized it up. I sprayed it with WD-40 and scrapped off most of the rust and it actually is working again. I might order a replacement motor but this will clearly be an issue for as long as this unit works. I would strongly AVOID this unit, I will now try not to think about the rust in my ice cubes....

I really love these ice makers when they aren't broken down! I've bought at least 6 of these, and they always fail within the return period or warranty period.... well, this one just had a flimsy plastic piece on the shovel brake off, and the whole thing is useless without it. Plan to return it next time I go to Sam's! Hopefully won't have an issue returning this time... most of the issues i've had with these are senseless. If better quality parts were used in manufacturing, instead of flimsy plastic, these could probably last a long time!

I have bought 2 of these. Thought the first one was a fluke because it lasted almost 11 months before it quit making ice. I cleaned it religiously every 4 weeks. When it worked, it produced very nice ice. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it won't last. The second one only lasted 4 months. You get what you pay for. Don't expect it to last and don't expect Frigidaire to honor any warranty on this cheaply made junk!

I purchased this item in October 2022. In March 2023 (5 months of use) the scoop flap arm broke. I filed a claim with Curtis International on March 14th and have yet to hear from them. I have sent them emails with no reply. All I have requested is a replacement for the broken part. This part can not be found online. The machine itself was great when working, but the Customer Service is unsatisfactory.

I had this ice maker for less than a year. It constantly needed to be cleaned. The part that holds the water and up where the ice is made was constantly becoming brown. I use filtered water when filling the machine so I wasn't understanding why the machine is constantly turning brown. It is not an easy machine to clean. When I tried cleaning it today, the part that holds the water when the ice is being made broke. Didn't even get a year out of the machine. The picture I have attached is less than a week after I had cleaned the machine.

I love the cubes that come out, and its super fast, but this Ice Maker doesn't work for our lifestyle. The cubs arent cold enough when the ice is made, so they are already half melted by the time we transfer them to an ice bucket in the freezer. This leads to one massive solid ice block. I have read others reviews on other sites, that they have same issues. The standard solution they have is to put ice in a bag, and smash the bag when they need ice. At this point, I want to go back to using trays, but already have used for a week.

This was a good ice maker it makes ice fairly quickly and frequently but it does not keep the ice that is made frozen ice begins to melt immediately and it isn't practical to put ice into freezer as it then clumps together into a solid block of ice. The description says its covered by the Sam's club member satisfaction guarantee but I'll be darned if I can find exactly what that means. The makers use the least expensive and lowest quality materials to get the most profit, save your money unless you wish to buy new machine every year

I wanted to buy a pellet ice maker (for sonic type ice) but the $400 price tag along with bad reviews from people who had multiple problems with them made me look elsewhere. I decided to try this one and love it. If you like the “soft” crunch of the pellet cubes you will love it too. I actually think I may like these bullet cubes better. Hope it lasts a long time.
