Reminded me of the winter holidays - baking cookies, sitting by the fire. It was rich and jammy and everything I would want in a wine this time of year.

For ones that are not normally a red drinker this will be a go to when Im feeling like having a red. We paired it with classic chocolate chip cookie and they complimented each other.

It did had a wonderful smell with oak and black pepper flavors. Overall I probably would not buy again if I had the option to purchase the merlot or Cabernet!

It was a great match with eggplant parm. nice earthy notes and with dark fruit (ie raisin and prune) flavors. color is a deep dark maroon. full bodied but didnt overpower my meal.

The blend is neither to dry or sweet and lends itself well to pairing with with tomato based meat sauce and pasta. If you're looking for an evening at home, this wine even goes well with pizza. It will be a staple in my cabinet!
