[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a bottle of this during an evening of wine tasting elsewhere. When opened at home I indeed found myself enjoying it more when I was sober! My palate enjoys dense, complex wines with a full mouth feel and a bit toward the jammy side. This fit the bill and I am adding it to my short list of especially enjoyed reds.

If you don’t know what to serve when hosting a dinner party, put the red blend front and center! It’s definitely a great way to elevate the ever-popular charcuterie boards because the red blend pairs well with the salty and fatty foods like prosciutto and cheeses! We‘ll always have it on-hand!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rye Barrel-Aged Red Blend had a Christmas spice and fruity flavor. Its little oaky and little smoky. The wine was full bodied, and favorable. The spice tasted like cinnamon/nutmeg, gingerbread. The berry flavor was a deep berry tang like it had blackberry or raspberry in it. This wasn't my favorite wine taste. It was doable with steak, hamburgers, cheese, pasta, vanilla cake. I might not would buy again.

It does pair well with cheeses and grapes (yes I am strange I eat grapes while drinking wine), I just love the smooth rich flavor of this wine. It almost reminds me of a gingerbread cookie but with a hint of bitterness and alcohol, I just love it.

I thought it was medium-bodied and good to the last drop. I highly recommend others try this line of Mondavi, especially the Red Blend.

I really fell that this wine is more versatile with food pairings. In my opinion I would not have it with a “heavy” meal, but would definitely have it with something light to compliment the aromatic and delicious flavor of the wine.
