The taste can taste the fruit sort of sweet first then a bitter aftertaste. A bold aged sharp cheese would taste very good together or a possible sweet milk chocolate. Overall not a bad wine but not my favorite one either.

Deep, rich tannins and a hint of smoke round out the wine with a lingering finish. A fine choice to pair with grilled skirt steak, kobe beef sliders, cured meats, and aged cheeses.

The flavor was strong and alcohol like. I did not taste any aromas as described on the bottle. I could not finish my glass. I would never purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rye Barrel-Aged Red Blend had a Christmas spice and fruity flavor. Its little oaky and little smoky. The wine was full bodied, and favorable. The spice tasted like cinnamon/nutmeg, gingerbread. The berry flavor was a deep berry tang like it had blackberry or raspberry in it. This wasn't my favorite wine taste. It was doable with steak, hamburgers, cheese, pasta, vanilla cake. I might not would buy again.

I tasted some vanilla and then at times it was peppery. It was smooth, but i felt like i would have to research what I had to eat with this first. i would want to avoid certain pairings. some cheeses did not go well. I would not seek this out to purchase again, but wouldnt be upset if i saw it at a party or it was gifted to me. it was just ok.

After pairing it with brie, it has a bitter finish. It was less bitter when paired with salami. I prefer sweeter wines but this was still a pleasant experience overall.
