Enjoyed this with gouda and wisconsin cheddar cheese. I can definitley see myself enjoying another bottle of Robert Mondavi Private Selection Rye Barrel-Aged Red Blend wine soon.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rye barrel-aged red blend is familiar but the rye gave the hint of something new and a delicious addition to the wine. The deep ruby red appearance makes it a little mysterious and draws you in to a flavor experience worth enjoying. A fruity and familiar aroma followed by a nutmeg taste, finishing smokey. It would pair well with a charcuterie board or a pasta.

When I learned that there was a RM Private Selection RYE BARREL-Aged Red Blend, I could not get to the store fast enough to try it! I even called over a few friends to try the new flavor with me...YUCK! I do not like this wine and rye pairing, it is so incredibly bitter to me and tastes like old burnt oak wood chips. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I could definitely taste the rye barrel flavor with the very first sip. But overall, the wine tasted pretty good I enjoyed drinking it. There was a strong spice note throughout though, and typically I'm not a big fan of spice type scents or flavors, but it wasn't too strong so that was fine. The rye barrel flavor was present, but not a big fan of the rye flavor but I did enjoy trying this wine and experimenting with the taste.

The berry and spice aroma is amazing and blends well with the darker flavors of plum and blackberry. Being aged in the rye barrel adds a subtle oak flavor. It as become my favorite red blend and pairs well with lamb and beef.

I like a good red wine and I am partial to a Moscato. The sweetness of the Red Blend is the perfect sweet combination.

Paired this wine with peppercorn steak and it held up nicely. Really an excellent full-bodied, smooth wine. I will definitely be buying this again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Robert Mondavi brand delivers again! This new Barrel-Aged wine in their Private Selection label is something I was keen to try. In particular, the Rum Barrel-Aged Merlot intrigued me. Since I like rum flavor on its own, trying this was a good fit for me. It does not disappoint! This merlot has a gorgeous color, smooth flavor, and overall decadent taste that is perfect for red wine lovers. This was also very easy to find in my local store. Robert Mondavi consistently delivers great products at a fantastic price point, but this Private Selection offering is something extra special by the company. So glad to make this a new favorite!

Though there is a distinct dark cherry atoma and flavor, it is overshadowed by other flavors and is more tannic than I typically enjoy. Nonetheless, it is enjoyable and would pair well with a fall stew or strong cheese.
