[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the deck box at Costco. I live a hour away and we had two parts missing and had to make a special trip to Costco to get the parts. That was ok but we put it together and the lid is warped. I feel that the cushions will not stay dry in a heavy rain, it defeats the purpose.

Just what I needed for my chair cushions. Installation was simple and straight forward. All the hardware was included and everything fit where the instructions said it would. Assembled the entire thing in about 30 minutes and my 9 year old did most of the work. Not sure what the other reviewers are complaining about. Good size box and should do the job.

I am hoping this Deck box will last. Seems to be well built. More importantly is the companies willingness to stand behind their product. I had some assembly issues. I sent an email and the parts are on the way. Excellent job of customer support. I will check first with this company for any future needs. Thank You

It took me about 2 hours to assemble and the very last item was the connection of the “shock absorbers” that hold the lid up. The first went on with no problem, but the right side wouldn’t go on. The little spring clip was bent in and I couldn’t budge it. Called customer service and Nathan was great. Took my info and is sending me a new one—took less than 5 minutes. And I got a confirming email 1 minute later. Good product and GREAT customer service.

Hello Lifetime Products Team, We bought this from Wholesale warehouse. Compared to all the things we have assembled, this one was one of the hardest and took pretty much most of the day. Of course, the YouTube Videos by LifeTime crew made it look easy but real one was not that smooth. I don't understand why would plastic holes were not pre-drilled or partial drilled. On top of that instructions were not the best for those steps. For example, it said use the Drill and don't use the Wrench. It actually worked better with the Wrench. Lining up those Drill screws and inserting them were *really* difficult. One of the last steps in Lid assembly seemed to have manufacturing defect as 3 of the 4 holes lined up but 4th was off by couple of mm. It's making that side of the Lid don't close all the way down as expected :-( Sorry, but I will not be able to recommend this to anyone ! SK

I did extensive research while looking for a deck box and chose the Lifetime model based on durability and protection from the elements. I have had the box outside next to my garage for two weeks now and no water has gotten in after several rains. Also, thankfully no spiders or insects have made their way inside either. It appears to be sealed quite well. No caulking needed. The box is the perfect size for 24 x 24 patio cushions so I'm quite happy with this product. Installation was fairly straightforward IF you have the right tools. I bought a socket wrench specifically for this and I'm glad that I did. The only downside is that during installation, the 3/8" bolts that attach the support bar to the lid seemed to be metric and not imperial-sized. Neither my 3/8" or 1/4" wrench would fit. Also, attaching the support bar involved some headscratching as the bolts appeared to be too large for the holes in the support bar. I found that screwing in the bolts before installing the bar to create a "groove" for the bolts made all the difference. Once I did this, it was much easier to screw the bolts into the lid.

I bought this storage box thinking it would be perfect for our deck....as my husband was putting it together he realized that 3 hinges were missing. So when I called the company to get the missing parts they stated that the parts were backordered and I wouldn't receive them for 2 MONTHS! Obviously they sold this product knowing the parts were missing. Very upset customer. I do like the look of the storage box but wanted to use it now not in 2 months.

Well I’ve owned many other Lifetime products over the years, such as their picnic table, folding chairs and folding tables, this product simply does not live up to the Lifetime brand name. Let me start by saying I would agree with the other reviewer‘s who mention the poor assembly process. There are no pre-drilled holes for the bolts that hold the lid together. Also, be sure to have a entire ratchet set handy, as apparently lifetime thought it would be appropriate to have different size bolts and hex nuts for this project. The lid itself does not close flush. Like many other reviewers, I assemble this in my garage on a flat surface. There’s no reason why after my assembly the lid should not close flush. Furthermore the walls are made of a much thinner plastic the most Lifetime products I’ve experienced. The only reason I’m giving this to stars instead of one is the fact that I pick this up for $99 at Costco. If this were $250 like Lifetime’s website suggests, do yourself a favor and walk away now.

I actually love this product. It’s very well made, durable and sturdy. Can’t confirm it it’s waterproof yet but I’m anxious to find out. I couldn’t rate 5 stars because it was extremely difficult for me to install the screws in the lid with a drill. I’m a female and assembled it myself but I had to purchase an impact driver to complete the job and even had some trouble with that. But I got it done and I’m proud of that. The instructional video is great but it would’ve been easier if I’d had the tools in the demonstration. I would recommend this product though.

I have photos but it’s not letting me upload them. I finally put the storage box together. The assembly is difficult and the instructions kinda suck. The plastic does NOT have pre-drilled holes so you need to use a drill. The lid assembly was difficult the bar that goes across it needs a sticker saying front right & front left so the holes can line up correctly. If you are having trouble lining it up just turn it around. Not upside down just turn it. I have not used it outside yet so I don’t have a review on that part.
