All my hardware (screws, bolts, hinges, hydraulic lift arms) totally rusted after 1st winter and hydraulic arms failed. Otherwise, nice box, nice size, plastic still looks good after being out in Texas sun! I have noted other products coming from China the metal hardware is cheap and rusts.

It took me about 2 hours to assemble and the very last item was the connection of the “shock absorbers” that hold the lid up. The first went on with no problem, but the right side wouldn’t go on. The little spring clip was bent in and I couldn’t budge it. Called customer service and Nathan was great. Took my info and is sending me a new one—took less than 5 minutes. And I got a confirming email 1 minute later. Good product and GREAT customer service.

I bought this deck box 6 years ago & it has been in the direct sunlight all of those summers. I have never had a problem, but the gas springs finally broke. Customer Service is replacing them under the 10 year warranty. Great product support. I bought 2 more Lifetime Deck Boxes last year because I was so satisfied with the first one.

If you're thinking this product has the typical quality associated with other LIFETIME products...FORGET IT. They outsourced this to China and many of the holes do not properly line up with the screws which is both frustrating and time consuming to correct. In many places, you have to drill your own holes in spite of the instructions which state "....insert a screw". Often there is no inserting without using a drill. This is particularly the case with the metal tabs on the bottom when you have to turn the box over. I'm a fairly handy guy and assembly took much, much longer than expected. My advice to LIFETIME: bring production of this unit back to the USA and improve the fit and finish of the plastics processing. By the way, notice that LIFETIME posts American flag icons for their made in USA products. They must be proud of it...and think it's important to their customers, which it is. Yet, sadly, this product doesn't earn the American made designation. Time to change that LIFETIME. Thank you.

This box is easly assemabled and is very sturdy and attractive. There is a lot of room in it to store what ever. We use it to store pool chemicals and tools and still have room for the grandchildren's toys. The top is plenty strong enough to use as a bench also.

This deck box is made of tough materials; is of excellent quality, and it looks great on my outdoor deck. It also required a solid five hours to assemble and required many tools, to include a power drill. But the hard work was worth it because I know personally how strong this box is. It was engineered well, but there are some typos and missing information in the instructions. I believe that the amount of work needed to assemble the box allowed for stronger materials at a good price, so it was worth the effort. I am very pleased.

The storage box arrived in a flat cardboard carton. The instructions were easy to follow and it only took my husband and me a couple of hours to totally put it together. It looks GREAT!!! It provides wonderful storage and is easy to get in and out of!!!

I bought this storage box thinking it would be perfect for our deck....as my husband was putting it together he realized that 3 hinges were missing. So when I called the company to get the missing parts they stated that the parts were backordered and I wouldn't receive them for 2 MONTHS! Obviously they sold this product knowing the parts were missing. Very upset customer. I do like the look of the storage box but wanted to use it now not in 2 months.

We recently added this to the patio to help us keep the yard a bit more tiddy. We knew it was a large box but I've been really surprised with how much it holds. We currently have 4 camping chairs in the box, several cushions for our patio furniture and several yard toys and still there is plenty of room for more. So far it's a very durable box so much so that it easily doubles as a bench. Instructions for assembly were good and easy to understand. It was real simple to put together, took me about 20 minutes or so is all. There's not a better deck box on the market!!

Problem #1: the slot for the Lid Support was too small. Had to use strong scissors to enlarge it. Problem #2: the nuts to attach the latch to the lid were impossible to tighten. Carried on, as we don’t plan to lock the box. Problem #3: Four screws DQS to secure the suport to the lid were too large. Used screws we had on hand instead. Problem #4: Holes in hinges for screws DRF too small. Got out the workbench, clamps and drill and carefully enlarged the holes. Problem #5: Realized it would be impossible to attach the hinges to the side panels because of the previously discovered problem with the nuts and bolts BES/AAB. So we had to make a trip to the hardware store to get replacements. We started this project at 9:00 am, thinking we would be finished before the World Cup Final (and the heat of the day as we are in the midst of an extreme heat alert). With all the additional work to find substitutes, fix manufacturing faults and make a trip to the hardware store, (and taking a break to watch the World Cup final and have some lunch) we didn’t finish until 2:30 pm. And we were only able to finish at all because we have a fairly good collection of tools and hardware.
