Just assembled this yesterday,it took my son and I about 1.5 hours. Good instructions for the most part. Time will tell if I have any rusting problems with the hinges, and how resistant this will be to a curious bear that has been known to climb our 7' fence.

I bought this composter several years ago and have been extremely happy with it. But what is most exceptional is the incredible customer service provided by Lifetime when parts have needed to be replaced. As others have noted, the interior locking mechanism rusted after a year or so of use. I called Lifetime and they immediately sent me a replacement with an updated anti-rust coating. Yesterday the locking pin on the left bin broke, I just got off the phone with lifetime and again they immediately acted on the problem and are sending me a replacement. It is rare to find a company with such integrity and great service. Lifetime rocks!!!

I purchased this back in 2013. I have had this in full sun and eventually moved it to a partially shaded area, the plastic holds up really well. Since it was uncovered and exposed to the elements, the metal parts began rusting. I notified customer service and John sent out the parts asap and all free of charge! This company really backs up their products! I am truly satisfied!

Really like the ability to have two rotating chambers that can house compost in different degrees of completion. Rugged construction and the black housing attracts and retains heat. Rear hinge seized after 2 years but customer service is sending new ones, so I'm happy and satisfied.

I purchased my dual tumbler about 3 years ago, I love it and it always turns my garbage into compost which is great for my garden. However my parts are rusty and the handles have broken off. I was extremely furious that this happened with how much it costs to purchase one of these. I don't see where I can buy replacement parts or file a warranty claim. Please help

I bought this over 4 years ago and I love it. Its easy to use and it looks great. It keeps all the compost inside the tumblers and this elimintaes many of the odors and mess associated with composting. Animals cannot get into the tumblers and that gives me piece of mind. The only draw back I experienced was that the metal hinges after years of use did give out and actually broke away from each other. I called Lifetime and they sent me replacement hinges for both without hesitation. They were easy to replace and now its like I have a brand new composter. I truly appreciate a company that stands by their products. I definitely recommend this composter for anyone that wants to have success composting, does not have a very large space and composts small quantities at a time.

I purchased this at Costco about four years ago. Assembly was not too difficult, although I am pretty sure there was an error in the instructions because both barrels came out asymmetrically, meaning that the little handles that allow you to rotate the drums didn't fall at 90 degree angles. I installed the completed composter in my shed and it gave me good service for several years. However, the metal parts began to rust, and even frequent applications of spray oil could not keep the hinges and the latch from becoming inoperative. It's actually a pretty big hassle to replace the hardware even if it's sent under warranty because a) the fasteners are incredibly hard to remove (I had to drill out eight of mine), and b) Lifetime doesn't ship the fasteners with the new parts. C'mon; how hard would it have been to ship new SS or galvanized fasteners? Replacing the parts took over an hour, not including a trip to Ace Hardware to buy $9.00 of stainless steel machine screws. So, bottom line, it's a smart idea that is poorly executed. It also took over two weeks to get the replacement parts. This would rate five stars if they had made it right in the first place.

I love the convenience of having two, ongoing composts and especially love that it is above the ground and rotates. This speeds the composting process considerably. I have had issues with rusting mechanisms, as many people have reported. I spoke with Nathan, in customer service, and he immediately ordered replacement parts for me. Great customer service, great product!

These were great at first, but the hinges rusted out and fell apart in about a year. Lifetime sent me replacements, but then the latches and associated hardware began rusting and disintegrating. I fixed what I could at first to keep them in commission, but finally gave up on them when the bars rusted out. They have been all but useless for most of the time I've owned them.
