Even after several years of owning this product, Lifetime sent us the replacement for the hinges for free. We are grateful for having bought this product from a reputable company.

I've been using the double barrel compost bin continually for close to ten years. I live in the NE where winters can be cold and summers wet and humid. The bins, if turned periodically, produce useable compost quicker then any other set up I've used. One of the hinges rusted shut and broke when I tried to open it. Nothing lasts forever when exposed to freeze cycles and rain. I contacted Lifetime hoping I could source a replacement hinge instead of buying a new barrel. Lifetime sent me a new hinge free of charge. I'm going to do my part and keep the new hinge lubricated. It's an understatement saying I'm a happy customer.

Our original purchase of our compost tumblers was smooth, and we received the product which has been performing well for the last 5 years. When the hinges became too rusted to hold the lid on, they not only sent me the hinges, but new lids. When I had to email them that the lid fasteners hardware was not with the lids, they immediately replied that they would ship those too --- we received them within a few days! Thank you Lifetime! My compost tumblers may just last a lifetime!

I bought 2 of these composers a while ago. They continue to work well in the Hawaiian heat! Parts that needed to be replaced were sent out and arrived within a week! The customer support department is AWESOME...the replacement parts ended up being FREE. This company truly walks the talk of exceptional customer support. I will buy their products again without without a second thought about quality and standing behind what they sell.

Not hard to assemble but one leg of the unit was not manufactured properly, causing great difficulty and delay. I had to file down this defect in order to finish the assembly.

Good compost bins. The assembly takes considerably longer than expected, but once that arduous task is complete they work very well

My husband is an accomplished "DIY" person and still it was a bit of a challenge to get together single-handedly. As far as "tumbling" goes, once it gets a decent amount in the bin it's a beast to spin; I think that may be due to the boxy design. We still do not have a load of compost completed (it has only been 4-6 weeks) so I cannot yet comment on that aspect of it. I do like that my stinky 'garbage' is now contained, and the tumblers aren't an eyesore like my open bin was, so in that respect I'm happy with it. The true test will be if it effectively yields lovely "black gold" as the end result. :)

I was excited to finally get my double- sided composter and felt that two hours with my husband and I assembling it would be well worth the effort. After more that six hours with both of us reading/re-reading the directions and then disassembling pieces that didn't fit, we found a major part (metal aerator) that was improperly drilled from the factory. My husband drilled new holes that properly lined up and we proceeded to finally finish the project. Better directions, possibly a video of assembly and properly drilled holes might have saved us hours of assembly time. Having explained all of that, now that it is completed, it is exactly what I wanted and I can foresee many years ahead of good use. It seems well made, durable and useful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this composter few years ago and had difficult time to put it together, way too complicated and some parts seem to be low quality which are already breaking. From my personal experience I found this composter poorly designed and very difficult to put together with a short time life quality.

everything works fine for about 4 months and it'll be down hill from there. The door latch is NOT water resistant, so will rust. In my cast, it rusted so bad after 4 months and now I can't even open the door. What's the purpose of having a compost bin that can't open?
