Out of curiousity I did a google search to see if Country Crock had changed their butter recipe, and well.... found out that they had, and there are tons of people just as unhappy with the changes as I am. New CC is god-awful- chemically, flavor is unpleasantly strong and really feels synthetic and oily. Comparable to using the liquid artificial butter flavoring you get on your popcorn at the movies. Will switch to a different brand when this last container runs out. The new container is nice, but what's inside it is definitely not.

It took me forever to find out why I stopped enjoying the meals I prepare. I discussed it with my sisters and parents and we realized it was the butter. We were all disappointed. The new taste is gross and it really does ruin an entire meal. My family has been using Country Crock for as long as I can remember. Now we are all changing to something different.

We have been a Country Crock family for years but not anymore... this latest change has forced a change in our house. It has a bitter, rancid taste and leave a horrible aftertaste in your mouth... Trashed my toast this morning... What were you thinking?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am so pleased that Country Crock has opted to create a cleaner and simper recipe with ingredients I *understand.* I grew up on Country Crock and now feel like I can really let my children do the same. It was easy to scoop out and use in a from-scratch cookie recipe without having to allow the butter to melt or soften. It was ready right out of the tub! Why is it, that successful companies always seem to have the need to make changes to the 'really good' products that helped make them so successful in the first place? This new recipe of my favorite butter spread has just lost you a long time customer. When I first opened the new container of 'Countrycrock Original', I noticed it had a odd aroma to it. After spreading it on a bread loaf I was using for garlic bread, I tried a taste from the butter knife. It was horrible!!! The first thing I did was check the expiration date, just knowing something was wrong. Date was ok, so went ahead and baked the loaf. At dinner, everyone at the table commented on the odd taste, and asked if I knew what was causing it. It was pretty obvious. You're new recipe is bad, period! Sorry to say, I'll be switching to another brand and product.

It tasted fine and we used it, but I wouldn't purchase it again. I would only recommend it to my friends who are not concerned with buying organic or with extra ingredients. It was fine as far as flavor. It was soft and easy to spread on my dinner rolls.

I have used Country Crock Original as a substitute for real butter in cookies and the final product came out well. My favorite thing to use Country Crock Original on is toast. Very satisfying!

I felt it was overly oily and didn't have the same butter taste I expect from butter. It is reasonably cheap if you cannot afford real butter, so that is a plus but I just didn't really care for it.
