As a patron on CC forever I thought the new packaging was a bit overdue. Bought it, took it home and used it to make garlic toast that night. After the first bite I went to the fridge to see if I had gotten the wrong thing. Nope. Had the container gone bad? Nope. Just another company that thought they could "improve" their successful product... I'm now searching for a replacement. And it sure won't be County Crock...

Have used country crock for years. I have always gotten great reviews on my cooking. This "new" "original" recipe has totally messed up my cooking! No one in my house likes my food anymore!!! Now I have to spend money I do not have to find a butter that was close to yours in the past! I understand adding new products, but PLEASE PLEASE go back to your truly ORIGINAL recipe!!!!!

I use it on baked goods, breads - I cook and bake with it! The container is a plus! ery wonderful product, I highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although, I received this tub for free, Country Crock is something that has been used in my household since I can remember. Although I, myself are not lactose intolerant, more than half of my family is, Country Crock was aways used in my house when I was little since it was a healthier, lactose free version of butter. And trust me, we went through a lot of trial and error trying to find something that would work just as mindlessly as butter. Unlike some butter substitutes, Country Crock can be used without any worries about giving up taste or texture for healthier food, even now when I can use butter as much as I want, I still use Country Crock about ninety-nine percent of the time, because in my opinion, if you're looking for a margarine, butter substitute, or just a plain healthier option, Country Crock is definitely the way to go.

Snuck this stuff into my fridge. Thought I had good old Country Crock spread, until I opened container and buttered my toast. Wow !! I thought I had spoiled eggs, or bread. Then I noticed the "new simple recipe" stamped on the lid. As others said, why change something that was already great ?? Time to try and find another brand of spread. :(

My husband on the other hand gets quite the colorful vocabulary when he tears a piece of bread while trying to spread some yum on it. Country Crock Original is perfect! I personally think the taste is amazing and it is SO easy to spread. Not only do I love it for every day buttered bread but it kicks up that cookie recipe! It never fails it always makes the meal taste better and doesn't have a plastic taste like some other butters do.
