Recently purchased this hoop for my son which I am greatful I spend a little more money to get a quality one. It indeed will take two people three hours to assemble but it flows if you FOLLOW the directions. My son loves it and I enjoy seeing him use it and so do all the kids in the neighborhood!

purchased in 2016, 7 years ago. Durable base. Overall good product. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! Unfortunately a very strong wind blew it over a few times when at 10 foot height. Make sure to add all the sand you can until the base is full. Now I have to purchase a new rim because its shaped like an egg, sort of like playing at the state fair, cant make a shot lol

This is a great product because it was very easy to put together. All the parts and hardware were bagged separately according to when they were to be used. The only thing that would make it even better is if they put the step # on each bag. But it was pretty easy to figure out which set of parts went to each step. It took me about 3.5 hours to put together by myself. Instructions were perfect...never confusing. Great buy!

I'm very handy, but during assembly, I got confused twice. One confusion resulted in having to undo and redo assembling quite a bit because I got the poll backwards with the rim hanging over the base. Oops! The problem could have been easily avoided with a change in the picture in section 2.2 where you connect the poll to the base. It does say "with the lip...," but a better picture (even with the lip identified) would have helped. Another section is clearly wrong. In section 6.1, the "Right Frame Pad (BAB)" is clearly pictured differently than the Right Frame Pad under "Parts Required." In the picture in Section 6.1, Left and Right are reversed. As a final comment, the self-drilling screws are very hard to install with a rechargeable, battery drill. A corded drill would be much better.

Finally, I have received my required parts on May 20. It took a month to arrive. Don’t know why? I have been patiently waiting since April 18. The last call (3rd call) I have made was on May 14 to check where the parts are. Each time, I have to wait for 40 minutes to an hour to have someone answer the phone. Although, the customer service person is polite and courteous. Just like other customer’s review, the instruction is not clear and complete. So is the APP. It doesn’t show you all the step pictures (APP) from scratch to the end. Lifetime should treat your each customer is first time buyer (installer) and doesn’t know anything about this product. Lastly, I have problem to tighten the ADS screw. Because of several time of screw and unscrew, it makes the hole slightly enlarge. Can you send me 2 screw which are slightly large size than ADS? Thank you for your service.

I debated between this one and different brand and I am so glad I went with this one based a lot on the reviews of it being fairly simple to put together. I'm a 30-something small woman and in a matter of a couple hours while the kids were sleeping had the majority of it put together by myself before my husband even came home (it would have been much easier if he were there and putting the backboard onto the pole is definitely a two-person job). However, I was able to assemble the entire pole, the pole to the base, the rim to the backboard, and everything else except attaching the backboard to the pole by myself. Very easy to follow instructions, easy to assemble. It looks great and has been working wonderfully. The one-hand height adjust works perfectly and is very simple and easy to use. I would recommend this to anybody.

First of all, this thing took 4 hours to set up. It falls over in moderate wind. And yes, we did put water in the bottom. The rim is so bouncy because of the springs that are connected to the rim. When your shot hits the rim it bounces so high. It is very unrealistic. The rim also bends easily. Don't buy this!

The model 1558 goal is heavy. I'd guess 80 pounds or more in the box. It takes a little while to assemble, but it's very well built. Parts are well organized and labelled. You need a helper, especially when attaching the main pole to the base. Also need a drill for some self tapping screws along with wrenches, screwdriver, etc. The height adjustment works very easily, uses springs to make raising/lowering almost effortless. We filled about 3/4 full of water, leaving room in case it freezes. Sand is recommended, but you need over 300 pounds and didn't have it handy. Feels very stable with water. So far, very pleased. Glad we decided on this one.

this is a decent basketball goal for the money. assembly was also easy, but did require two adults for a couple steps as instructed. Height is easily adjustable; drawbacks: backboard size is a little on the small size and pole rises straight up from the base as opposed to at an angle.

The assembly instructions are close to the worst I have encountered. Part numbers do not match reference numbers in instructions. Instruction booklet is too small, therefore diagrams are too small; so extremely difficult to see how everything fits together. So many steps had to taken apart and then redone. Would like to see this company rewrite for future buyers.
