Terrible instructions

The instructions are the worst. The parts are not to scale and they refer to everything as ABC and ABJ but the parts don't have labels on them. The fit for the backboard is so tight that if you tighten all the parts as instructed prior to trying to attach you have to take everything back apart again. There isn't a single video on this website or all of Youtube to show if your using the wrong screws since, once again its label in three letter combinations that aren't on the parts. If this company had an simple 8 to 10 minute instruction video laying out the parts and how to fasten together it would be much better.

Thank you for the suggestion. We are working on getting instructional videos up on our YouTube channel to provide help for those struggling with assembly. We do have basketball help available now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8r8eoXUVNo

Great design

Instructions were very easy to follow. Each hardware bag is labeled so keep the hardware in each bag until you need it. It was a great father and son project to build then play afterword. I used a step ladder and a funnel to fill the base with sand. It takes 375 lbs. of sand. I recommend 8 bags of contractor sand. Happy shooting!

Very Pleased!

We purchased this basketball hoop as a Christmas present for our kids. My husband had no difficulties in assembling the unit and once we added the sand, it is very sturdy. The height adjustment is great and moves easily and smoothly. Our entire family is having fun with it and friends that have come over too!

Very good basketball system.

Purchased this portable & adjustable height basketball system for my two grandsons for a Christmas Gift. The entire system came packaged in one sale-contained box. It was shipped to the Wal-Mart Store closet to my residence. It was delivered ON-TIME! Also, a text message was sent to my cell phone informing me that the system was delivered. It was easy to set-up. You need the assistance of another person for a few of the tasks. All-in-all in was well worth the cost. Wal-Mart did an outstanding job throughout the entire on-line ordering and delivery procedure.

52 inch Lifetime goal is great purchase!

The basketball goal is great. Assembly is a little problematic because the goal is unwieldy. Refer to instructions continually and follow "exactly". Having a pair of saw horses, on which to place the goal, is almost a must! NOTE: Each basketball goal assembly section is associated with it's own "bag" of parts. Do no intermingle parts in bags. Open and use one bag at a time.

Poorly made.

I bought this about a month ago now, and my kids love playing with it. However, I'm not sure how long it will last. We purchased this and then assembled it the same day. While assembling it we found that the base is extremely flimsy. We worried if and how long it will actually support the pole and hoop. We figured that perhaps once it was filled it would work better but it did not. When we stood it upright, the base cracked! While we were filling it, we noticed that it was already broken and had additional holes in it where the water leaked out. It is not sealed tight! So now in order to use this basketball hoop, we have to keep a bag of sand on top of it to keep it from falling over and I'm not sure how long it will last. I only keep it up because my kids love it so.

Great customer service

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Action Grip Portable Basketball System. During the assembly we needed a replacement bolt. I called the company (800 # listed on the front of the assembly instructions - genius!). It was easy to get through to a live person and they were happy to send a replacement part free of charge and it came in a few days (sooner than they told me it would). Also once we put it up we found a few untied knots in the net that we couldn't retie. I called CS again and same story - happy tos send a replacement net at no charge. Lastly the product was reasonably priced and very good quality.

Nice goal; Instructions could be better

I'm very handy, but during assembly, I got confused twice. One confusion resulted in having to undo and redo assembling quite a bit because I got the poll backwards with the rim hanging over the base. Oops! The problem could have been easily avoided with a change in the picture in section 2.2 where you connect the poll to the base. It does say "with the lip...," but a better picture (even with the lip identified) would have helped. Another section is clearly wrong. In section 6.1, the "Right Frame Pad (BAB)" is clearly pictured differently than the Right Frame Pad under "Parts Required." In the picture in Section 6.1, Left and Right are reversed. As a final comment, the self-drilling screws are very hard to install with a rechargeable, battery drill. A corded drill would be much better.

Fill the base all the way

purchased in 2016, 7 years ago. Durable base. Overall good product. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! Unfortunately a very strong wind blew it over a few times when at 10 foot height. Make sure to add all the sand you can until the base is full. Now I have to purchase a new rim because its shaped like an egg, sort of like playing at the state fair, cant make a shot lol

Assembly isn't a 1-2 man job

Great product after we finally got it assembled. Two bolts broke delaying set up until a quick trip to the hardware store. They were the two bolts connecting the rim through the backboard to the pole. Bolts twisted off before they got tight. Another challenge is that the assembly instructions never indicated what the best position for the pole and backboard assembly should be in to complete a specific step. Despite the issues it is a very good product and lots of fun for the granddaughter.
