more than I need right now

Actually, I bought this for my grandson who is not quite 3 yrs old so he needs to do some growing before he can actually play with it. But I know kids all you gotta' do is feed and water them and they grow like weeds. I assembled this system with no help but I'm an engineer and used to doing difficult mechanical projects alone. I believe this will be fun for him and his friends for a long time to come. Thanks Walmart!

Nicer hoop than i expected

Had a previous Lifetime 44" plastic board years ago that cracked and replaced it with this one given my boys are 6 years older and the original board cracked. Walmart delivered the 100 lb box to my driveway in less than a week so was very satisfied with the free shipping option. I've put this one up in about 2-3 hours and so far it plays better than expected with a better rebound off the board. The installation wasn't too bad just takes some patience especially connecting pole to base to align the axle properly and the bolt to connect the base crossbars was somewhat challenging to line up with the allen wrenches. All in all it looks and plays good so would recommend this over competitors like Spalding...

Excellent product

The product is fine. IN fact it is better than I expected. The instructions are an absolute nightmare: out of sequence, 3 different languages, not sure where the next sequence begins. I finally resorted to picture only and ignored the words. It is NOT a one man job and I amazed that anyone could possibly put this together in 2 hours. Overall though I recommend the hoop.

Great Hoop

I got this for my 15 year old son for Christmas, and the two of us were able to put it together in about 4.5 hours. It's definitely more than a one person job so don't even try it! (You can do certain parts alone but not the whole thing) It functions great and no issues. Just go slow and read each step in the directions very carefully.

The unit looks great and operates well but it was the assembly instructions that drove me nuts. The instructions should be re-written and accompanied by actual photos. No excuse in this day and age for such poor quality diagrams. I was able to assemble it without help but it took creativity.

So far its great!

We are loving this new basketball hoop! Especially since my son is now back outside using it constantly! We lost our old hoop a few months back and he's been in the house entirely too much as a result. It definitely took my husband a long time to set up at least 6 hrs and he definitely used lots of tools. I love that it has an XL base! We filled it with sand so it is EXTREMELY HEAVY and takes at least two people to move. The good thing is that it is safe and won't fall over either. The hoop is very nice and the kids are having lots of fun using it! Great product!

Height Adjustable failure

After spending hours assembling this system and running to the hardware store since the package had missing hardware not the height adjustment will not adjust. Took it apart and reassembled but still no avail. Called multiple times on the phone but no one picks up, is this good Customer service?

Great net

Net definitely takes some work to assemble - my son and I probably took 4 hours. But it went together well, and seems very tight and sturdy. We were missing one small bag of screws for the backboard frame, which, to be honest, I think we misplaced. Emailed company and they responded immediately sending me the screws no questions asked, free of charge. So far so good!

Great value!

My three sons wanted a basketball hoop system for Christmas, and of course, Santa delivered! However, the Elves didn't put it together, so I spent the day assembling the basketball hoop system. My first impressions while unboxing was that the hardware was bagged for each step as you assembled the basketball hoop system. This was a huge plus as I followed the assembly instructions very closely putting this system together. Just make sure you take your time following the instruction closely, or you could be putting the pole assembly together the wrong way. I filled the base using 7 1/2 bags of 50 LB premium play sand (washed and dried), giving it a weight around 375 pounds. Make sure you have two adults to move it around, or you could injure your back trying moving it. Adding sand to the base made it heavier than using water, and it stands up to strong wind gusts. I taped a Ball jarring funnel with blue painter's tape to the filling neck of the base, adding the sand from a 5 gallon bucket with a planting shovel. I used a broom stick handle occasionally to make sure the sand got into all the nooks and crannies of the base. The instructions are good, but could be improved upon with better pictures/assembly instructions, especially for those that may not be so handy. I would recommend to Lifetime that with each basketball hoop model introduced, offer a detailed 15-20 minute Youtube video of how to assemble the unit. I installed the backboard padding using a compact drill and self tapping screws. This was easy for me, but some, may prove difficult if they do not have a drill. I would recommend that these holes in the backboard frame be drilled and tapped with threads so that the backboard padding could be installed easier using machine screws with a dab of Blue Loctite. Overall, This basketball hoop system is great value for the money!

Very Nice

Very pleased with the overall product. I had tried to order a different goal but due to backorder, my order was cancelled, so I was online shopping again. This product was bigger than my original choice and due to rollback pricing was the same price. My husband and I put this together on a Sunday afternoon. We only had two missteps in the directions, and that was due to not looking fully at the picture shown. Loved how the nuts, bolts, etc. were separately packaged for each step of the process. If you follow the step by step directions you should have no problem putting this together. Did not keep up with how long it took to put together.
