I have owned this kayak for approximately a year now. It has room for two adults and 1 child. I used this last summer with my wife and 10 year old daughter in our local lake. The kayak is very stable and moves at a steady pace even though it has some weight to it. The maneuvering capability is sufficient; you may have to make a few more side to side motions to keep on track while paddling. I also customized this kayak for fishing, and it works out great for stashing gear and holding your poles. Please note that this kayak is heavy, and takes a lot to get used to if you are going to use this by yourself. The size is nice and doesn't look that long, until you try to stand it upright to put on top of your car. I could never get enough holding power, so I installed 3 additional handles so I would be able to pick it up to place on top of the car. I also had to buy an attachment for my bike rack. It's a bar that sticks out and act as a 2nd person once you place the kayak in the corner. Even though there are minor drawbacks to this kayak, I am still giving it 5 stars because the kayak has done everything I've asked of it. The price was also nice, it holds 3 people, and this is a solid body kayak. For family trips and fishing this is a sure thing.

I bought this kayak for double duty as a tandem for the family and a solo for myself. It is a little small for a true tandem, but when the front seat is removed and the rear seat is moved to the center position, it works well as a solo. The nice thing about this short tandem boat is that it's easy to haul in the bed of a truck, no rack required. The only space for flush-mount pole holders is on the rear, which kind of interferes with the cargo net back there. I also need to install some carry handles on the sides for solo trips- it's heavy for a solo kayak. I had the kayak shipped to my house. It came with two small holes on either side of the rear. I was able to plastic weld the HDPE back together with scraps from my pole-holder installation. Overall, I am satisfied with this kayak for what it is.

Bought this and a Pacer for my boys' birthdays. Tried them out for the first time today. Good times! The Kokanee is quite stable. It's a little heavy and bulky on land, but handled easily enough by two people. Handles well in the water. I purchased padded seat bottoms, as I was told a long trip would be uncomfortable without them. Only complaint I can possible come up with is it was missing a couple small parts.

We paddled around a lake on this kayak for 3 days and quite enjoyed it. As many other reviewers mentioned, it’s not designed to go fast but rather for its capacity and stability. While it’s no problem for 2 of the 180lbs+ members of my family to paddle together on the Lifetime Kokanee, I find it easier to navigate as a single kayak due to the lighter load. Overall, I highly recommend this kayak if you want a well-priced sit-on kayak with the flexibility of paddling double. One thing I want to mention about This pick up order is that it arrived 3 days after the estimated delivery date- I was almost worried that it wouldn’t arrive before our camping trip as there was no tracking information available online. Good thing it finally came! I really appreciated the staff for helping us load the kayak onto the roof rack.

We bought this kayak because we like the feature of two people being able to use it at once. The kids love taking it to the lake and paddling around for hours. We have thought about getting another kayak or even a paddle board from lifetime. Love their products and recommend them all the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first kayak and we could not be more happy with it. The width makes it very stable in the water. Plenty of room for 2 plus gear. If I had to mention anything negative it would be that it could use a better "handle" in the back, the moulded grip is not user friendly and it is a little heavy for 1 person.

I read a lot of reviews on different kayaks before deciding on this one. I'll give my two cents on the pros and cons of this model: Pro: it's big and stable. My wife and kids were jumping into the water and climbing back onto this kayak while I was in the rear seat and it never felt close to tipping. It will never win any races, but because of its mass once you get it moving it keeps moving and tracks better than expected. If you are looking for a stable swim platform/ touring kayak, this one can fit the bill. Cons: it's big and stable. Yes, this is both its best pro and con. This thing is big and heavy. It took my family of four to get it up onto the roof rack. If you are a competitive power lifter you'll have no problem with this thing, or if you have a location where you will be sliding it in and out of the water, but if you have to load it up onto a rack you better have some strong helpers. Overall it was a good choice for me, but I might have to trailer it at some point in the future. Mine came with one of the backrest buckles cracked, and with one call to Lifetime I had a new one in a couple of days, so their customer service is very good.

Great kayak, i like that the seats are taller than most kayak seats and give lower and mid back support. Cant beat the price, got on sale for $275. Vs. Green one for $385. The two water tight storage are great, no bag so you can store larger items. The kayak body is solid and no cracks along edges like other kayaks seem to have. Added a handle to the back for easier lifting. I would recommend this kayak.

I would give it a 5 stars, but the lack of a handle in the back to carry it was the only negative point. However, I added one myself and now two people can easily transport it. I bought a handle online and use rivets to secure. Stainless steel screws would work too. Make sure to add “goop sealant if you choose to add a handle. The kayak is not the fastest, but extremely stable. The seats are actually pretty comfortable, however if we went on it for an extended period of time, I’d get a foam seat like the one we use in bleachers. I found the kayak too large to secure safely on truck roof with J rack type. I have purchased the Thule 881 system to transport it sitting flat.

After a few months of ownership, I find the clip that holds one of the seats missing (these gray clips are not sturdy at all) and a clip that snaps th seat strap into the side of the kayak is missing. I'm going to have to stock up on parts, or re-engineer the fasteners on this kayak.
